Deep, deep amber red por with a nice big off white head. not much of an aroma.....slight sweetness and maybe a touch of malts and macro. Nice flavor the malts come out first. Then toffee, caramel and ever so slightly watery. Nice beer especially for people just getting into crafts. I wont turn one down.

Pours with three finger cream head that fades slowly leaving some lace. Clear amber color. Slight malty nose. Light carbonation and light bodied. Flavor is slightly malty with hints of caramel. Almost a burnt coffee finish. $1.75 for a 12oz from Barb’s Beer Emporium Concord, NH.

Bottle split with barrios at woody’s. Pours a clear near coca-cola with small tan head. Tinny metallic aroma crosses over into the flavor. Also, caramel, some roast, and a slight milk chocolate quality. Medium thin body with moderate carbonation. Not all that great.

Anxious for Spring so picked up 6 of these. Pours Chestnut brown, clear as day. Light tan head - full and tight. Strong malt aroma, some sweetness, chocolate (at the end of the nose pull). The flavor improves as it slightly warms. Malty with dark candy - caramel-esk. Almost bitter finish and almost metallic. Thin mouth feel. Only okay. Still anxious for Spring.

(bottle) Pours dark brown with a reddish tinge and a small off-white head. Aroma has ample toasted malt, a light touch of chocolate, and a slight wheat twang (similar to lemon peel) that I’ve smelled in weizenbocks or hefes, which must be the touch of citrus because I don’t think there’s any wheat here. Light hints of musty malt are present. The taste is light and restrained, with some light chocolate flavors and faint caramel, with a lingering light toasted malt/bitter finish. The mouthfeel is medium with ample carbonation. Not too bad, and slightly underrated.

Deep brown and ruby body with a light khaki head. Bready aroma with some tobacco and caramel. The taste has some light bubble gum and smoky tobacco character. Overall, this gets a little cloying with it’s green wood character. The finish has some soil. A decent brew, but not real drinkable.

I can sum this one up in one word. Underwhelming. Being a big fan of bocks I was excited to see this new entry in my area. In fact the beer even looks great on the pour. It is colored a dark auburn and is capped with a huge tan head. Lacing is strong. Unfortunately is misses most of the other qualifying characteristics of the style. Aroma is devoid of malt and smells a bit dusty with slight hint of powdered chocolate. Body is slightly thin. Softly carbonated with a very subdued malt character, a slight tartness, but missing the malt backbone to properly call itself a bock. Hops are lightly present in the finish. Reminds me a bit of a brown ale.
