Bottle: Lightly sweet aroma of malts, nuts, light brown sugar, and a hint of grassy hops. Poured copper/deep amber/orange in color with a large, fluffy, creamy, rocky, tan head that lasted throughout. Clear. Sparkling. Good lacing. Flavor is lightly sweet. Tastes of malts, nuts, maple leaves, and some brown sugar. Very bland, boring flavor. Light to medium body. Thin, slightly chalky texture. Soft to average carbonation. Slightly sweet, malty, finish is bland and watery. Itzjerm (70), Harvest, Alabama, USA

| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Feb 13, 2009 2009 Bottle. Pours dark toward the top and lighter toward the bottom, very similar to a black-and-tan. Smells of dark malts and tastes that way too, until a citrusy aftertaste. A decent bock, but not amazing. webbcreative (111), , Oklahoma, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Feb 12, 2009 Pours very dark, with some reddish color to it. Got about a 2 finger head out of this one. Tastes a little of metallic, but also gettings some toasted nut flavor, and dark malt. Not real sweet. Just a little bit of hop bitterness for balance, but not much.
Nothing particularly memorable out this one. I would take a shiner bock over this anyday. unclemattie (2422), Georgia, USA

Aroma of sweet roasted grain, caramel malt, and some fruitiness. Spicy malt, some chocolate malt, nice sweetness, and a well balance hop bitterness. A little to light bodied for my taste of this style, I perfect it a bit stickier. Not bad to sip after work with a hand full of (untainted) peanuts before you start dinner. its good, not great. travita (1926), Frisco, Texas, USA

The look is brownish red in color with a beige colored head. The taste is sweet, bready, rye, malts, and caramel. Light from style and pretty boring. skoll (135), Traverse City, Michigan, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Feb 11, 2009 From the bottle pours mahogany, good clarity, with a small off-white head. Sweet nose, sweet caramel and doughy. Fairly heavy body, sweet toasty caramel malt start finish balanced bitter and a touch astringent. I think that I’ll go back for another six pack.
