A balanced bock. That said it lacks the heavy malty sweetness characteristic of the style. While the caramel malt comes through with a sweet malt flavor there is a hopped finish that it uncharacteristic of bocks. I liked the beer but expected less hopps and more malt. Wonderful head forms in the glass.

Brown in color with a small beige head. Aroma is of brown sugar, caramel, rye, and sourdough bread. Taste is of caramel, a little roastiness, and malt.

Watery flavor with a musty aroma. Taste was decent enough. I was unimpressed with this specimen.

Pours a clear mahogany body topped by a medium beige head. Aroma of toffee, dark fruits, and roasted malt. Very thin and watery palate distracts from the taste. Bready sweet maltiness features toffee and a hint of dark fruits. A note of herbal hops balances. Not bad, but not one I’ll look for again.

Tap. Nice fluffy head, diminishes pretty quickly. Ruby-brown color. Nutty aroma. Nice lacing on glass as you drink it. Taste was a bit of a disappointment; pretty bland...nothing that really stands out about it. Slight toasted nuttiness, very little hops, pretty light body. Still, although it’s below average and another dissapointment from the folks at Leinies (I wasn’t impressed witht the Fireside Nut Brown either), it’s a decent session beer and surprisingly refreshing.

Rich amber with thick, tanned shaving cream head. Nutty caramel malt aroma. Ok Munich malt profile. Crisp dry maltiness. Toasted malt, with some nuttiness. Some malt liquor fruity alcohol flavor on finish.

pours a deep amber-brwon with a thin tan head...very poor retention. aroma is sweet with some brown sugar and a touch of roastiness. very bland taste with just a touch of roasty malt and a horribly watery and chalky mouthfeel.

pours a deep ruby, almost brown, with a slightly fluffy light tan head... Aroma of sweet caramel, raisins, no hops, and nutmeg??? Generic taste, quite bland, no discernable hop or malt profile... Thin mouthfeel with a very carbonated soda like finish...
