This beer was a little darker than an average macro-brew but the flavor profile was basically the same. Very plain and familiar taste to it except slightly more bitter. Not really impressed at al but this was not a terribly bad beer. It was just very plain and familiar. troyc (1175), Lubbock, Texas, USA

Aroma of dark malts and light brown sugar. Taste includes caramel and toffee malts. Light nutty finish. Carbonation was a little on the high side. I didn’t find any glaring flaws here, but it was kinda boring overall. halfonit (480), Fall River, Massachusetts, USA

Smells mostly of malts with some caramel and nuts undertones. Taste is aluminum and malt, yuck. Has an aluminum aftertaste stephenj007 (36), Houston, Texas, USA

I am not normally a dark beer or bock drinker, but occasionally I like to step outside my comfort zone. This beer was certainly an easy drinker and very tasty. Great aroma, with a wonderful toasted, nutty, and slightly floral aire to it. Pours without much head out of the bottle. Not heavy or thick on the palate. Flavors were clean and smooth, not much following or aftertaste, but was satisfying. Looking forward to trying some more darker beers. Drew (2410), Kent, Ohio, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jul 22, 2009 The first couple of sips of this one had me thinking that it would have a nice creamy body, but after a bit I realized that the palate was not so good after all - became a tad watery. Flavor was brown sugar, almonds, nutty; a little bit of hops, dry finish. DocLock (4648), Lower Pottsgrove, Pennsylvania, USA

Clear deep amber brown with a small white head. Lightly malty flavor with a touch of a metallic note. (I tend to get a metallic note in a lot of bock beers). Light earthy spicy hop notes. Medium body and mouthfeel, fairly highly carbonation, with a dry finish. Ughsmash (4077), Waukesha, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jul 8, 2009 Bottled. Poured deep garnety-brown with a creamy cap of off-white head.. quite clear. The aroma picked up very sweet toasted caramel and chocolate notes with light hits of earth and herbal accents.. overly sweet and approachable. The flavor had similar malt character, but leaned toward the caramel end of the spectrum.. there was more of a hop presence here, namely citrus and earth, giving it a nice added complexity.. finished with fine balance between the sweets and bitters. Light-medium bodied and well-carbonated on the palate.. simple and very drinkable.
