Commercial Description:
Leine's Amber Light is a new kind of light beer - a light beer with color and flavor. Brewed with 2-Row Pale brewer's malt, Munich and Carmel malt for a lightly flavored body. These barley malts also give Leine's Amber Light its beautiful amber color. A light hopping with Cascade and Cluster hops provides a well-balanced, smooth, light flavor and drinkable finish.

WHEN? When will brewers understand that light beer is an abomination of nature? It is not possible to brew a beer that is light in calories and/or alcohol and have any real flavor. Leinenkugels Amber Light pours a beautiful copper orange color with a thick off white creamy head. From then on it’s all down hill. The head doesn’t last and the faint taste of barley, hops, and yeast are so watered down one kicks himself for paying $7 for a six pack of it. Like a gorgeous woman who doesn’t put out, this great looking but flavorless offering from Jake is nothing but frustration in a bottle. PASS!

Light yellow with a hint of red. Faintest of sweet malt scents. Taste is likewise sweet, but also somewhat sharp. Does not appear well balanced. Very watery. I do not care for the flavor of this beer at all. In fact, I’m glad it’s being retired.

Pours a little darker than most american lagers. Aromas of corn, hops, and you know the rest. Flavor is a little more pronounced in this lager, a little more bitter.

Orangey brown - or maybe sort of a light amber, but I’m trying to avoid just repeating the label. Big foamy head. Faint but grainy aroma. What flavor there is is OK, but faint. Notes of caramel, maybe. Sourish, thin finish.

Bottle. Poured a very bright amber/golden with a short-lived white head. Not very much going on in the flavor or aroma... ’cept for funky veggie mash, cardboard, and a hint of floral. Some toffee sweetness came through in the flavor, too. Thin bodied and rather unsatisfying.

Light and thin, but not bad for what it is. It has color, and more flavor than I expected for a light beer. Smooth, barley and caramel. Not bad, but I dont think I’ll be getting this one again.

Bottle. Pours with a large head. Very light and thin with a macro brew taste despite the dark amber color.

Bottle. Dark amber color with a large frothy white head that lasted. Lifgt hoppy citrus aroma. Medium body with a thin texture. Light malty hop flavor with a short light bitter finish.
