Commercial Description:
The leaves - at the height of their color, but before the inevitable fall. And the apples - ripe for the picking, and the absolute peak of their flavor. It's this moment that you'll find captured in our new Leinenkugel's Apple Spice. We take the fresh, delicious taste of real apples - as crisp as the first bite off the tree - and add just a touch of cinnamon for a hint of spice. The result is a mouthwatering blend that's perfect for sharing with friends. It's flavor to the core. We use over 2000 pounds of apples in every brew.

Is this beer? Seems more like a malternative that my wife would drink. It smells and tastes ok, like apple cider. I used to like Leinies before they started making these overly sweet beverages.

First off, this beer looks and smells delicious. It has the color of a Granny Smith apple and the nose is all cinnamon and apples. If only the same could be said about the taste... Basically it reminds me of sour apple juice, like when you leave some in the fridge for way too long and it starts to ferment. Starts out with apple, but the alcohol flavor kills whatever goodness might be there. It’s a shame, I had high hopes for this one after enjoying the Sunset Wheat so much.

Poured a light golden color with a minimal white head. Aroma was light apple. Flavor was more of the apple, with a little spice. It is quite sweet... it actually seems more like a wine cooler than a beer. Good carbonation.

The spice is dominating in this beer. The apple comes through more in aroma than flavor (with slight oily/apply aftertaste). This is one of the few beers I couldn’t finish.

12oz bottle.
Pours a fizzy, clear, quite pale straw yellow. Foamy fizzy head forms and then shrinks down to a layer on top that is constantly fed by streams of bubbles. Aroma is red apples, artificial cinnamon like schnapps, and cheap adjuncty corn lager. Not that the aroma hinted at a high quality New Glarus Apple Ale-like experience, the flavor is pretty close to dreadful: Apple, candy cinnamon, corn, cereal grain, and a near absence of hops. This stuff tastes like liquid Apple Jacks. Palate is thin and pin-prick fizzy. A friend of mine who should know better insisted that I try this despite my vocal aversion to Leinenkugels products. Turns out I should have known better too. One step away from drainpour.

Leinie’s Apple Spice pours a pale yellow straw color and is mostly clear. It has lively carbonation and a fluffy off-white head with good retention. The aroma is fresh apple cider. The flavor starts crisp and sweet and is like apple juice. Then it has a nice, refreshing apple tartness/tanginess. In the slighty drier finish, some of the base beer flavor comes through with some cinammon spice. Very crisp, clean, and refreshing. REAL apple flavor. Very smooth on the palate and light, bodied but only slightly less than average. I always enjoy this beer when it comes out. Something a little sweeter and different than usual. 12 oz bottle, $1.35+tax from Belmont Party Supply.

Decent sized white head of fine bubbles. Decent carbonation. Nice pear and apple aroma with some spices (cinnamon). Color is a hazy golden amber. Light apple flavor with only a hint of the cinnamon. Kind of lingers in the background which is nice. Slight chalkyness from the spices. Little sweet but very refreshing and tasty. Finishes pretty clean and tasty. Really doesn’t taste like anything more that a light spiced apple juice. It would be interesting to know how much alcohol is really in here. Not much I would guess.

12oz bottle, cloudy yellow body nose was apple and spice. Dry and no taste of beer ( malt?) This is like a lambic, noy a bad effort. Nice of my father in law to bring home this "new Beer" from a local shop-rite.
