Commercial Description:
The leaves - at the height of their color, but before the inevitable fall. And the apples - ripe for the picking, and the absolute peak of their flavor. It's this moment that you'll find captured in our new Leinenkugel's Apple Spice. We take the fresh, delicious taste of real apples - as crisp as the first bite off the tree - and add just a touch of cinnamon for a hint of spice. The result is a mouthwatering blend that's perfect for sharing with friends. It's flavor to the core. We use over 2000 pounds of apples in every brew.

Bottle. Actually, the aroma is mildly pleasant: Cinnamon, bread dough and granny smith apple. Pours pale gold with virtually no head. Flavor tastes like rotten apples with some cinnamon and sugar thrown in. Some off the mark bread dough notes as well. Crisp and light on the tongue. Starts promising, but severely misses the mark in the flavor department.

Probably the best fruit beer I’ve ever had. Aroma was perfect. All apples. Pour was a light gold with no head or bubbles. Taste was sweet and apple-y with some heavy spices and a nice crisp aftertaste. I could drink this all year ’round.

Bottle at Charlie’s in Mankato. Pours golden with a head that retains. The aroma is of apple cider. The flavor is of fizzy apple cider. It married great with the salty smoked ham I was having during brunch. I really enjoyed this and found it quite refreshing. Not a bad effort.

Pours very pale gold with a fizzy shortly lived white head. Smell is pretty nice actually, and smells like apples and cinnamon. Very cider like. Taste is similar and nice strong fresh green apples with a big hit of cinnamon and a corn like malt sweetness. Nicely carbonated, but a bit thin body-wise. Somewhat sweet, and not something I’d want a ton of, but a very nice guilty pleasure beer, and a nice Christmas beer to have around the Holidays. Would actually get this again occasionally.

11-18-07 bottle. Tastes so much like applie cider! Smell is not very good - apples and yeast that just smells somewhat like cheap cleaning products. Apple flavor is actually fairly good. It doesn’t taste like fake or generic apples - can actually pick up the cinnamon. The smell is just not very good, and the beer overall doesn’t have much depth or character. It just seems to be apple cider with a bit of beer hidden in there.

Very nice muted hard sour candy aroma, just like granny smith apple pie. Looks like ubiquitous pale yellow american lager but with a thin creamy girdle head. Lovely initial flavor, very slight beer bitterness but plenty of apple tartness. After each sip I get this odd aftertaste of Kellogs applejacks. Could do without the cinnamon, IMHO it distracts from the quakity. There is a small amount of processed lager beer bitterness in there, however it is well controlled. This beer is more like a sour ale than a fruit beer. If this is a fruit beer, it is one of the better I’ve tastd.

Bottle. Pours hazy pale yellow. Decent head. Aroma, YUMMY! Smells like mom is mulling the cider! Apple with cinnamon. First taste, mmm.... Apple, cinamon. I wanted to actually heat it up and serve it hot! Great fall, winter drink. Very drinkable.
