Aroma was fruity raspberry, and mouthfeel was carbonated and slightly tangy. Taste was sweet raspberry, and the finish somewhat short.
Not a bad beer, but on those rare occasions when I want a fruit beer, I’ll stick with a Belgian Lambic. CaryTheDude (1113), Longmont, Colorado, USA

The story behind how I got it is better than the actual beer, but I have no idea why this is rated so low. Honkeybra doesn’t believe me a Leinies could have a decent flavor, but I’m as surprised as anyone. It’s definitely aight. ajm (949), Los Angeles, California, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Sep 18, 2008 Bottle from Liquor Depot. My feeling is that the ratings here are intolerably low. This aroma and master-taste are a near-perfect rendition of raspberry sherbet. I think for a fruit beer the (lack of) balance is just fine. And no, the complexity just isn’t there, but again: fruit beer! Fruit! This tastes like gangbuster fruit, and what’s more, it has the same sparkley, spikey quality that Founder’s Blushing Monk has. Solid low-% fruit beer. pacaus (49), Dublin, Pennsylvania, USA
| 2.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/20 | Sep 17, 2008 It was okay. Definitely a berry taste as advertised, and my wife liked it because you could not really taste the beer. For the money I could think of better ways to spend it redgold07 (308), Irving, Texas, USA
| 2.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 8/20 | Sep 9, 2008 Pours a slightly reddish/copper color. Relatively enjoyable. Aroma and flavor heavy of berries. Reminds me of port or church wine.

| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 2/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Sep 4, 2008 Two words... "very berry". The aroma is pretty intense of berries, but I liked it. Color reminded me of a little hematuria, but then again, I am a nurse. Over all, it really didn’t seem like a beer, and I have to agree with RickS95 below about it tasting more like a wine cooler flavored with a hint of beer. I enjoyed it though and will buy it again. | 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Sep 3, 2008 I never was a fruity wheat kind of beer drinker, but as I’ve gotten older, my palate seems to have changed and now I seem to enjoy any kind of beer.
This beer scared me at first. I was told it has an overpowering berry taste to it, and I was reluctant to get it. However, I had heard the same thing about Sam Adams Cherry Wheat, yet I found that beer to be exceptional.
I had the beer in the bottle so I have no idea what it looks like, though I’m guessing something purpley-pinkish.
It smells like you would expect...very berry, and not at all like a beer.
In your mouth, you can feel the burn of the carbonation, but it’s very refreshing at the same time.
There is no hint of bitter in the aftertaste, only berries.
Instead of a beer flavored with berries, it tastes more like a wine cooler flavored with a hint of beer. That’s not a bad thing, but not everyone will like this beer because of it.
I enjoyed my first bottle after a long round of golf in the hot sun. It really was refreshing and totally hit the spot for me.
