This beer scared me at first. I was told it has an overpowering berry taste to it, and I was reluctant to get it. However, I had heard the same thing about Sam Adams Cherry Wheat, yet I found that beer to be exceptional.
I had the beer in the bottle so I have no idea what it looks like, though I’m guessing something purpley-pinkish.
It smells like you would expect...very berry, and not at all like a beer.
In your mouth, you can feel the burn of the carbonation, but it’s very refreshing at the same time.
There is no hint of bitter in the aftertaste, only berries.
Instead of a beer flavored with berries, it tastes more like a wine cooler flavored with a hint of beer. That’s not a bad thing, but not everyone will like this beer because of it.
I enjoyed my first bottle after a long round of golf in the hot sun. It really was refreshing and totally hit the spot for me. MaltOMeal (653), Land of Sugar, Texas, USA

Pours a clear, pinkish-lavender color with a white head. nose is sweet, berries. taste is of blackberries and other types of berries, but way too sweet. Mouthfeel is medium-to-thin and very carbonated. Like drinking a berry soda. holdenn (1446), Chicago, Illinois, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Aug 25, 2008 I can’t believe I’ve never rated this. I kinda liked when I first started drinking, but my preference faded quick for this one. Its pretty hard to finish one of these let alone a six pack. This rating is for the pour at Miller Brewing company after their tour. Pours a fruity orange pink that has a little purple coming through. A pink white head on top. Fake berry fruits and sugars in the nose. The flavor is just the same, sugary sweet fake fruit berries. That being said, if you’re in the mood for an alchy pop. Or you like a little carbonation and alcohol in your purple kool-aid. ... well here ya go. Although its hard to finish, its not that terrible either. If there’s nothing else around, I might grab one of these. JFURYCAT (792), East Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania, USA
| 2.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 8/20 | Aug 23, 2008 Very confectionated and the berries taste more on the concentrate side than what you’d get from natural juice. There is some wheat in the mix which seems to balance the artificial kool aid pretty well but change the berries and it would work IMHO. beerchugger (307), Colorado, USA
| 1.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 3/5 | 3/10 | 2/5 | 6/20 | Aug 23, 2008 Wow. Sweet Sweet Sweet. An awful lot of sugar in this puppy. It really doesn’t taste so much like berries and just tastes like sweet soda. I really didn’t care much for it. No grains, no hops, just sweet. Yuck. Imaena (259), Portland, Maine, USA
| 2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 3/10 | 2/5 | 8/20 | Aug 19, 2008 Bottle 08.’ Tastes like snapple or wine spritzer. I hated but my girlfriend loved it and she hates beer so I guess it has some merit. I would not reccomend it unless you wanted lots of berry flavor in your beer. brentfeesh (1039), Gadsden, Alabama, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | Aug 17, 2008 Wow, was I drunk when I rated this beer. I have no recollection of typing any of the gibberish that was on here moments ago. Anyhow, all I’ll say is that I enjoy this brew. I like the overall fruit forward aspect of it. I’m not saying this is the finest crafted brew ever, and I actually doubt that there is any fruit in it at all, but on a hot day or by the pool, I can really get into this stuff. In reality, I like all their fruit Weiss line, including their summer shandy. Again, great for the summer. NextBestThing (22), Westtown, New York, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Aug 13, 2008 Updated: Sep 25, 2008Pours grapefruit pink, one finger head which lingers. Nose is pure berries. Like just about everyone has commented, more of a wine cooler than anything else although you could describe it as fruit juice poured into a Budweiser at an approximately 75-25 ratio in favor of the juice. This is the perfect beer for women or for people who despise the taste of beer. I feel like I could probably drink 40 of these and never change the expression on my face once the entire time. Still, not horrible or offensive.
