The nose smells of a raspberry/blackberry blend with a faint honey note and the light soapiness that I’ve detected in several less-than-impressive fruit beers. Light and thin with decent carbonation and a short clean finish, it does a decent job as a thirst-quencher. The flavor, however, is way too sweet for my tastes. Light, tart, very sweet, and well carbonated mixed berry jelly/jam with a faint medicinal note and a clean finish. It is refreshing and fairly easy drinking. Crank up the wheat so that I can actually taste it and you’d have a pretty good fruit beer. As it stands, its better than their Summer Shandy but only marginally better than a berry wine cooler. spete1972 (1), Wisconsin, USA does not count | 1.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 2/10 | 2/5 | 2/20 | Jul 27, 2007 There’s nothing wrong with a good fruit beer, but this is one of the few beers I have ever drank that I sent back after a couple of sips. A disappointment from Leinenkugel. eaglefan538 (2385), Wilmington, Delaware, USA

Pour was fruit juice pink-red, tons of carbonation bubbles. The aroma was berries and cherry, no grains at all. The flavor had some grains to it, but was mostly cherry-like (sure, berries, whatever you want to call it on the label). The mouthfeel was light syrup water, soda pop equivalent. Whatever. modalnails (43), boulder, Colorado, USA

Like many other reviews, I feel it is too sweet to drink more than a few. You NEED to mix this beer with the Leinenkugel Honey (50/50 split) and you have summer in a glass. We called them Stingers in Chicago and in my local bar, I could ask for it by name and they would tap a pitcher half and half. Its a little bit of work when you do it yourself with a pitcher and 2 six-packs, but for a day outdoors playing bocce or bean bags or watching the ball game, Stingers have the perfect mix to just keep on drinking hogan873 (334), Joliet, Illinois, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Jul 13, 2007 Berries abound. Pours almost pink with a pinkish thin head. Strong aroma of berries...reminds me of boysenberry syrup. Tons of flavor up front with a lot of sweetness tempered slightly by a tartness. Finishes fairly clean. A little too much berry to drink more than two at a time. Not bad though. SturmWulf (65), USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 14/20 | Jul 12, 2007 Nice Berry aroma, nice reddish color, creamy head, nice lace, nice berry flavor with slight honey weiss in background. Medium sweet in flavor, body was slightly heavier than light, slightly oily texture, average carbonation, with a slightly sweet finish.
A traditonalist might not like this brew, but I enjoyed it immensely. Its something different, great to share with friends and a nice change of pace. If you like to try something a little different you might like this. Leinies scores another hit with this untraditional beeer. Great job! jarlbartar (88), Janesville, Wisconsin, USA

Aroma of berry juice. Taste of berries and light alcohol. Some people go crazy over this stuff, but it is not beer to me. If it were marketed as some sort of wine cooler or spritzer, maybe - just not beer.
