Nasty. Light ruby color with a small pinkish head looked okay. The nose was sweet with a cloying sense of artificial berries, syrup. Watery and lively carbonated. The flavor was terrible. Cloying. Comparing it to Kool-Aid is unfair to the Kool-Aid.

Yumm! Very, very sweet! One of the sweetest beers I’ve ever had. Sort of like drinking Hi-C. I enjoyed it a lot, but this mega-sweet brew is not for everyone. It didn’t have much beer taste, actually. More of a fruity flavor comes through. Imagine a fruit lambic, with a 5-lb bag of sugar dumped in.

Red. Very sweet. Too sweet. Smells sweet. Tastes like Kool-Aid with double the sugar. Not good.

Too many mixed flavors. Did someone forget to wash this glass? Does not really come across to me as beer. Perhaps training wheels for someone making the journey from coolers to a light beer.

fruity beer that can’t decide if it’s a berry cider or a flavored beer. very sweet, almost too sweet to drink, and if I’ll agree with the rater before me, if I had wanted a wine cooler, this would have hit the spot. unfortunately, i was wanting a tasty fruit beer. oh well...

smells fruity and tastes like a beer mixed w/ a whine cooler... the sweet in this beer is a bit overpowering.. it pours w/ a thin head and a reddish color the palate is wait.. I’m done.. just call this a whine cooler in a beer bottle already.

I’m not a big fan of Leine’s Berry Weiss. In fact, it’s lucky to be listed on RateBeer.com because its status as a "beer" is questionable. Very sweet and fizzy; the malt and hops being dormant - and, to me - nonexistant. With all the other beers available throughout the world, this should never be an option.

IIt is really hard to call this one a fruit beer. It is fruity - and not in a bad way, but the malt is so minimal that one would swear they were drinking a wine cooler. Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer pours a vaguely ill salmon color with a large pink head. The aroma is sour berry. The flavor is pure berry. Tangy and relatively pleasant. There is no malt or hop presence to speak of. Tasty, but lacking in any real "beer" flavor of any sort. I have also had this one on draft as well. The draft is overwhelmingly sickeningly sweet.
