Aroma is very sweet candied malts and some raisins, very pleasant! Flavor is heavy on malt flavors (caramely), and is pretty one-dimensional. Mouthfeel is somewhat watery, but not really in a bad way; leading to an extremely drinkable beer. Decent drink, nothing to go out of your way for, but if you see one, its worth a try! Strong taste with malts and bitterness well-balanced throughout, with some coffee and smoky flavors emerging as the bottle warms. Nice color too, a reddish-brown tone that is rather unique. jarlbartar (88), Janesville, Wisconsin, USA

Creamy off white head with good retention, nice lacing. Aromas of roasted nuts, caramel and bitter chocolate. Taste of light roasted malts, some sweet chocolate, good carbonation and mouthfeel. The only thing missing from this beer is the taste, which was pretty mild for a bock. Aroma, appearance and mouthfeel were all good. Now if they could just get the taste... SturmWulf (65), USA

Nice lacing. Very smooth, lightly bitter with a medium body, slightly creamy, slightly oily texture, nice carbonation, with a quick finish. I enjoyed the slight bitter chocolate, lightly malt flavor. A nice beer, I would buy again. Leinies did well with this one!
Used a stein with this one.

First taste is roasty and slightly chocolaty. Dark brownish red color. Good carbonation, a pleasure. Alcohol is ever present after the first taste bud impact. Each successive sip is covered with fine tingly carbonation and a welcomed palate appeal. Seems to have more alky than what is listed. Friendly and unassuming except for than alky alert at the end of each sip. Finish is short and generally acceptable. The slight bitter impact departs quite quickly.
