Commercial Description:
Leinenkugel's is pleased to bring back Leinenkugel's Big Butt Doppelbock into its limited-release portfolio. The name "Big Butt" comes from the image of two goats butting heads that you see on the label. Bock means billy goat in German and Leinenkugel's Big Butt Doppelbock's name and label pokes fun at the goat's springtime mating ritual. The result is a malty, rich, full-bodied bock beer brewed with two-and six-row pale and specialty malts and two specialty hops. Like all Leinie's beers, Big Butt Doppelbock is handcrafted one batch at a time in our historic Chippewa Falls brewery.

Not too shabby. Nose consists of bread, chocolate and raisens. Pours a nice dark black amber color and has a white bubbly head. Tastes smooth but like cocoa and hops. Not bad.

My first Leinenkugel! Poured a nice crystal brown color. I loved the smell! Smelled like sweet bread! Taste was roasted, sweet malts, with some caamel or molases. Very drinkable. Nothing outstanding, but decent.

Bottle. Pours a slightly-darker-than-thin brown with an aroma of- and I’m NOT kidding- a Whopper from Burger King. Flavor is thinly veiled spicy malt rounded out by coffee and light chocolate. Thin mouthfeel. Not bad, actually.

Dark pour with a earthy aroma. Nothing overly notable about it but nothing bad about it either.

On Tap at The Rock in Beloit, Wisconsin. Has a nice clear dark brown color with a thin off white head. The body is watery. The aroma is malty with a hint maple syrup. Tatse is thin with the flavor or caramel and malt. Not to bad but nothing spectacular either.

Flavor is unpleasant with tastes of raisin and poorly paired caramelized malts. Finishes with a slightly vile aftertaste. Thick, not very drinkable. Overall a sub par beer

12 oz. longneck twist off bottle. I hate twist offs. Best before 4/03/07. Not too fresh then. Poured out a ruddy brown color, with a thin tan head. Aromas are of raisins, plums, and slight caramel malts. Flavors are the same as the aromas. Caramel, raisins, brown sugar. Not enough hops to bother mentioning. Finished sweet. Not enough alcohol for a Dopplebock. Go back to the drawing board, Miller.
