Flavor, caramel, some fruits I guess. A bit of a roasted character, maybe some grassy hops. Nothing really doppelbock about it. holdenn (1443), Chicago, Illinois, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Feb 13, 2007 12 oz bottle thanks to xnoxhatex? Had this at a party as it was winding down and my consumption needed to wind down as well. A little malty aroma chocolate, carmel, pretty flat. The flavors reflected the aroma. I thought dopple meant double? Well nothing double here and nothing special either but its drinkable. Rynoplasty (513), Louisville, Kentucky, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Feb 12, 2007 Pours reddish brown with thin head that dissipates pretty quick. Aroma is german hops, pale malt and a tiny bit of caramel. Taste is malty, with mainly pale malt flavoring, but with a decent amount of caramel as well, but not near enough for the style. There is also a little bit of a hop finish. Overall this beer is an ok doppelbock, but definitely nothing special. Maybe if it were the price of a regular lienies six pack it would be o.k., but it cost me 1.50 more. PorterPounder (3138), Tallahassee, Florida, USA

Non-descript aroma - hints of fresh lake water. Sweet flavor with hints of caramel and raisins. Nutty finish. Decently thick mouthfeel. Did not bowl me over. thegreenrooster (1835), St.louis, Missouri, USA
| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 9/20 | Feb 9, 2007 Pour is a deep dark brown with a tan head. Aroma is nothing special as some malts make there way to the top. Flavor is much the same. Very carbonated and some malts. No where near the style. Pretty poor effort. doubelknv3 (568), Illinois, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 2/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Feb 4, 2007 This is one of the best Leinie beers that I have tried. Aroma is lighter than I expected, but had a roasty / carmel smell. Head started out nice, but then became quite thin...had a nice dark reddish colour. Very smooth dopplebock start to finish. I would buy this beer again unclemattie (2415), Georgia, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Feb 3, 2007 bottle. reddish brown color. thin off white head. Nice clean flavor, rich malt. kinda watery. still very smooth. caramel malt finish quite low hop EithCubes (2146), Indiana, USA
| 2.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 1/5 | 9/20 | Jan 27, 2007 Bottle. Caramel and toffee nose with dark malt, but on the whole weak. Pours a darkish red-brown with a creamy light brown head. Blander than expected, but there is the occasional taste jolt of stale caramel and dark fruit, and some tinny pale malt. Crisp beginning. Watery and somewhat artificial with little to style.
