I’d drink it again, but I wouldn’t seek it out. Thanks to Duane for this one! HopsOrDie (687), New Lenox, Illinois, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Feb 9, 2005 Dark drown pour with a big tan head. Not much carbonation which leads to a smooth texture on your palate. Very malty aroma with a dark fruityness coming through. Flavor is sweet with a roasted and fruity flavor. I thought the alcohol was well hidden for a d-bock, but the 5.79% explains it. Dansting (222), Overland Park, Kansas, USA

Not sure this is a dopple-bock, but it’s good. Strong chocolaty toffee flavor. walleye (881), Sterling Heights, Michigan, USA

| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jan 20, 2005 Thanks to Duane. This is my last beer from Duane, and they have all been very good. This one pours a deep, vibrant ruby color with a medium, creamy white head. Aroma of malt, toffee, plum, and prunes. Tastes very malty, with the aforementioned dark fruits and a slight, tart cherry finish. Delicious. Not super dense or complex like many doppelbocks, but very good nonetheless. jollyraider (252), Los Angeles, California, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Jan 17, 2005 Been waiting to try this since hearing of it when I joined Ratebeer. Not really a pure doppelbock. Nonetheless, it’s a nice darker beer, and for only $6. hellomynameis (794), Mayer, Minnesota, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jan 15, 2005 This was more of a red colour, with a medium sized head that dissapeard quickly. Not much of an aroma. The taste was mostly malt with a suprising amount of hops for the style. It really didn’t remind me of a dopplebock at all. Too thin. Styles (1653), Lincoln Park, Michigan, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jan 6, 2005 Dark ruby with a frothy head fades quickly though. Sweet malt aroma. Nutty flavor with hints of caramel. A little watery for the style.
