I guess more like a semi-malted slightly hopped fizzy beer. Some slight hints of cashews, peanuts. Not to style, which was highly disappointing, but not unexpected. obisbeer (558), Barcelona, Spain
| 2.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 4/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 7/20 | Dec 12, 2004 Deep clear rich mahognay color with thick head that fades quick. Sweet malt nose with light fruit quality. Med weight with sweetish finish. Light fruit flavors though very artificial tasting with faint malt backbone. Not very tasty a bit too artificial tasting in the end. gabbledbabble (60), Loveland, Colorado, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Dec 11, 2004 First Leinnies I’ve had since college in St Paul in the early nineties.
Welcome back. NOw I see Leinnies has found a market in some micro-marketing.
Looks like walnut laminate with a dissipating large bubble head.
Smells of a new leather book with pressed grape skins, and warm alfalfa.
NIce sourness bites both sides of the palate. There’s Italian plum. Finishes dry with dry alfalfa, and a lite tobacco.

Aroma is an interseting mix of roasted malt and caramel mabye. Mouth feel is mid-body, with a little more fiz then i like. I wanted to like this more then I do. Dough77 (777), Aurora, Illinois, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Dec 8, 2004 I can’t believe I hadnt rated this sooner. This was one of those beers that changed my beer drinking life. Pour was a nice thin dark pour, leaving small chocolate and malt notes. Brew went down nice. Definitly a nice ’mass’ produced dopplebock. And also a nice bridge from BMC to the better stuff. MIBRomeo (1965), Wisconsin, USA
| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Nov 30, 2004 dark brown in color but still translucent thin light head that quickly dissapates w/ a very mellow aroma w/ some hints of roasted malts. The plaate was lightly carbonated and fairly smooth not very creamy the flavor was nearly non existant w/ hints of malts and water.. this may be big butt but its small flavor I have had this on tap in the past and remember it being much better w/ much more flavor.. this isn’t bad but it’s definatelly not what I remember it to be I was dissapointed. barleyPops (1081), Quad-Cities, Illinois, USA

Pours a rich, dark choolate color with a very nice two finger head that slowly settles down. good roasted malt and chocolate flavor, however the finish seems rather thin. Overall good but not great.
