Commercial Description:
Leinenkugel's is pleased to bring back Leinenkugel's Big Butt Doppelbock into its limited-release portfolio. The name "Big Butt" comes from the image of two goats butting heads that you see on the label. Bock means billy goat in German and Leinenkugel's Big Butt Doppelbock's name and label pokes fun at the goat's springtime mating ritual. The result is a malty, rich, full-bodied bock beer brewed with two-and six-row pale and specialty malts and two specialty hops. Like all Leinie's beers, Big Butt Doppelbock is handcrafted one batch at a time in our historic Chippewa Falls brewery.

Bottle. If you are looking for a colon scrub, grab the BIG BUTT. There is NO doppelbock in this bottle! Maybe old Jack Dawson had a few rounds before setting sail on the Titanic, and that’s the real reason the boat sank!

Dark red black brown pour with no real head. Smell is sweet and super light. Flavor is almost non existant. It is slightly sweet and almost has a cherry bite to it. Medium body - a hint on the thin side. Overall, not very good.

bottle, black pour, nose of malts and sugar, this is way too sweet for me, some coffee and burnt chocolate with a decent body to it but just too sweet

Drinking straight from the bottle. Taste is light and crisp. Body is watery, could use much more flavor. Has a macro-type aftertaste, not too pleasant. Now... if you forget this is supposed to be a doppelbock and tell yourself it’s just a bock, it’s not bad. Just a disappointing doppel.

Pours mostly black with a slight transparencey to hit and no head. Smell is malty and rich. Taste is thin, bland maltiness with a hint of tartness and not very flavorful compared to the nose. Not really very good or fresh tasting, and is a bit thin and bubbly. Eh...

This doppelbock is weak sauce. I am a huge doppelbock fan and I look forward every winter to drinking them. I thought this was the worst of what I had. It’s good, but not at all very good.

This beer pours a light brown colour with a full creamy tan head. Aroma is of roasted malts, espresso beans and caramel. Mouthfeel is fairly light for a doppel, and taste is slightly watery initially. Decent taste, but misrepresents its sytle a bit.
