Taste is kind of sweet and of roasted malts and a hint of chocolate. Is a really smooth beer that is fairly refreshing, but is barely on the watery side. Overall, this beer is very easy to drink, finishes clean and is rather tasty.

| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Mar 8, 2008 bottle. I like it. Doesnt have the same uniqueness of the Optimator/Celebrator but still a nice beer and by far the best Leinenkugel I’ve had. HoppyGuy (111), USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Mar 7, 2008 Pours a nice mahogany color with thick light tan head that diminishes quickly. The maltiness is front and center, with a honey-ish caramel/coffe flavor. It seems weak in character. Not a bad brew, but not great, either. You could pair this with brats, but its weak stature would be lost with anything very flavorful on the plate. cdeaton (66), Madison, Indiana, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Mar 7, 2008 Ruby color, almost no head, relatively potent aroma that calls to mind a cross between Budweiser and caramel sweets (make of it what you will). Flavor hits the palate well -- malty, notes of woodchips, toffee, chocolate, caramel. Crisp finish. Pretty solid. BlackOut (43), East End, England
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Mar 4, 2008 Had it straight fron the bottle so dont know what exact color or head was it. First sip was quite pleasant, had some nice flavour to it, this beer has thin body though with a bit watery finish and a bit too carbonated. Leaves kinda sour aftertaste in your mouth. But comparing to some other cheap lagers this is quite alright. Would definetley buy again for a party or smth, not for solo tasting.

| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Mar 4, 2008 Overall, a disappointment. It poured from the bottle a nice, rich brown with a good, if too quickly disappearing, head. The aroma was mild and somewhat bitter. The beer seemed watery and very carbonated. The flavor wasn’t bad by any stretch (caramel, malt noticeable), but there was nothing to distinguish it as very good. Our overall impression was that it could just as easily be one of the better of A-B’s Michelob "specialty" beers (which, to us, is not the ultimate slam that it might be to some here -- but isn’t any great compliment, either.) | 2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 4/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 7/20 | Mar 1, 2008 I was very disappointed by this beer. 12oz bottle poured a lovely bomber jacket brown without the aroma I’d expect from such a richly colored doppelbock. From the very first taste, the beer seemed watery and lacking the rich cereal flavors I expected. The roasted flavors were there, but it was almost like singed alcohol was the only dominant element. If I didn’t know better, I’d say it was a domestic pale lager with some toasted caramel flavoring tossed in. Drank 4 of my 12 pack and gave the rest away. Narnad (714), Wonder Lake, Illinois, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 3/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Feb 28, 2008 Burnt caramel in color. Forms a nice head which lasts for about 30 seconds. Slight sweet and nutty taste. Good malty aroma. Overall a decent beer to quench the thirst but not one which exemplifies the style.
