Haslinger (518), Syracuse, New York, USA Apr 27, 2008 Bottle, Aroma is very thin mot much to it. Taste is a little bit malty with some sugar added. Not bad easy to drink but would not buy again
Pershing (68), Garland, Texas, USA Aug 17, 2008 Deep dark brown with a light tan head. Light malt flavor that is very thin. This is the Amercian doppelbock version so keep your expectations low. SpudClampDawg (919), Jasper, Indiana, USA Aug 5, 2008 12oz bottle: Reddish brown pour with little head to speak of. This beer really comes alive at it reaches room temperature. Caramelized malts, sweet honey, cocoa and almonds. The sweetness and complexity resonates in the body. Light and drinkable, the lagering really helps smooth this out. A nice intro to the doppelbock style. jkwalking05 (171), Arlington, Texas, USA Jul 26, 2008 Mahogany color with a decent head. Aromas of nut and caramel. Nose is shallow and has little complexity. Flavors are maple, malts and honey with a slight roastiness. Very sweet. spagyetti (68), Puyallup, Washington, USA Jun 27, 2008 Bottle. If you are looking for a colon scrub, grab the BIG BUTT. There is NO doppelbock in this bottle! Maybe old Jack Dawson had a few rounds before setting sail on the Titanic, and that’s the real reason the boat sank! missouribill (9), , Missouri, USA does not count Jun 9, 2008 could be one of the greats, but i cant put my finger on what its missing. definitely not a doppelbock.
