badgerben (3040), Blaine, Minnesota, USA Nov 28, 2007 Rating 2600. Many, many thanks to the one, the only, Skyview, for bringing this treat. I’m entering it a bit out of order for the night, but what do I care? Pours like a bottle of motor oil with a medium, dark tan head. Very nice aroma of heavily roasted malt, coffee and a bit of soy sauce. Woody taste. Someone at the tasting mentioned hickory and I would have to agree 100%. Molasses, very strong malt and a sugary syrup taste dominate. Slight bitterness towards the end. Not the world’s greatest, but definitely a top tier brew. I am very impressed by Leinie’s. Cheers!
radiomgb (1730), Peterborough, Ontario, Canada Aug 17, 2008 Black in colour with a rich and lingering brown coloured head, excellent lacing. The aroma is roasty with some smoke, dark fruits, chocolate with lots of malt. The flavour is quite sweet, lots of roast, chocolate malts, a bit chalky, some fruit and light alcohol. Sweet mouthfeel, medium body, medium carbonation. Finishes quite sweet, creamy with some alcohol.
This is a rather sweet Imperial Stout but it lacks in the body department. Good for a macro for sure.
355ml bottle obtained in a trade with Beerlando, thanks Bryan.

Slipstream (344), USA Aug 15, 2008 Another thank you to Adrian (at least I think that is who gave this to me). Black as coal with a light brown head. The aroma reminds me of one of my grandmother’s rich European layer cakes, full of chocolate and jam - only this has more alcohol. The label is pretty ordinary. Eleven malts and grains were used, and it shows. This stout is packed with flavor - espresso, hops, chocolate, brown sugar, stone fruits. It is velvety smooth as well as ultra-rich. As you marvel at the frappe-like thickness, the flavors bounce around the inside of your mouth. Big Eddy is a little on the sweet and heavy side, but it is a classy imperial stout. It would probably be nice with a cigar or a pipe. AmEricanbrew (907), Left Coast, Louisiana, USA Aug 13, 2008 Bottle thanks to Ughsmash. Has a 4/25/2008 drink by date stamped on the neck. Black with no head. Nice aroma is pit fruits with blackened malts. Smooth, medium heavy body. Flavor is... WOW, wtf got into Leinenkugel ? this is really tasty. Rich, roasted malts with sweet pit fruits and earthy molasses, and chocolate... I say damn boy ! this is a great stout, the best straight IRS i’ve had in a long time, fuck me running !!
alexsdad06 (618), Ohio, USA Aug 9, 2008 12 oz bottle courtesy of SS winter ’07 and joeybgood. A black viscous pour with a small disappearing tan head. The aroma is deep roasted chocolatey malt, dark fruits, licorice, and molasses. The flavor has a big dose of roasted malt up front adding chocolate and dark fruits mid palate through to the finish. Bitterness is especially noticable in the finish as is some of the 9.5%. This is a very nice imperial stout. Beerman6686 (654), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA Aug 9, 2008 Pours a very dark brown with a tan head. Aroma was some coffee, alcohol, and some other bad smells. Flavor was coffee, but masked by a metallic taste, not too great.
