| 2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 2/5 | 4/10 | 4/5 | 6/20 | May 30, 2009 Bottle. Pour is medium golden, not amber, with a creamy off-white head. Aroma is of crisp dry malt and a hint of hops. The body was really thin with very little malt character as well as little hop character. A very clean beer that is well blended but does not conform to the amber style. Yes, I know that it is a premium lager, but I think the only reason for this is that Leinies couldn’t get the beer to fit the amber category. RichJ7 (1175), Cullman, Alabama, USA
| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | May 29, 2009 Amber in color with a small white head. Malty aroma. Malty taste. Fairly typical amber with nothing to distinguish it. Meh. phishpond417 (1953), Madison, Wisconsin, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 9/20 | May 26, 2009 Had this on tap a ocuple times recently. Poured a clear bright amber colour with a big white head. Has faint hops and soft toffee on the nose. Taste is what always gets me with the leiney beers. One dimensional with a malt forward taste dominating most of the experience. Light and weak but pleasent i guess. Nothing incredible. troopie (884), USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | May 26, 2009 Bottle. Poured Pale amber with thick frothy white head. moderate lacing Aroma of hop, grass, hay and malt. Malty flavour, with a stale bready edge. Finish slightly off, in a semitallised way. Still, drinkable on a hot day. noncaloric (616), Madison, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | May 25, 2009 Lighter than what I’d usually call amber, with a white, sudsy head. Simple but decent caramelized malt aroma. Surprisingly complex malt character, bready, toffee sweetness offset by resinous nuttiness. Would rate higher but as long as the head lasted, the beer harmonized poorly with the carbonation and was sharp in an off, sour fashion. Once the head dissipated, it was a fine malty lager. Mouthfeel is sudsy, almost chewy, feels much fuller than viscosity alone would indicate.
