Commercial Description:
A 100 percent malted lager, “Leinie’s Classic” features Leinenkugel’s own unique blend of two-row and six-row malts and four varieties of hops. A blend of Pale, Caramel, and Munich malts offer a complex flavor, with four different hops (Cluster, Cascade, Mt. Hood, and Hallertau) to balance the malts. Acknowledging their German heritage, Leinenkugel’s brewed Classic Amber in Reinheitsgebot tradition, where the only ingredients permitted are malts, water, hops, and yeast.

Bottle from Ron’s. Pours dark straw with nose of grainy malt, mild hopcitrus, brown sugar, with a malty flavor, some hops, citrus, and earthy notes. Light palate and not complex.

Pours a very clear light amber color with a thick white head. Aroma is a lot of Munich malt toasted notes and a light citrus hops background. Flavor is has a semi-strong nutty maltiness with a caramel and light citrus ending. Beer is full of flavor but doesn’t have much density. This beer is not something I would be seeking out at a liquor store but its not a horrible offering for a macro owned brewery.

Tap. Amber with big white head. Pretty average offering here. Enjoyed that it was cheap, but taste was very sweet. Would drink again if nothing better was offered.

Draft Pours an orange amber with a fizzy white head. The head leaves quickly. Has aroma of grain and hints of malts. The flavor is strange with an unusual kick. Has okay carbination. This one totally misses for me. Seemed to be something it wasn’t No real style or trend for what they were trying to achive. But atleast it was wet.

Pour from 12 oz bottle. Aroma is a bit of carmel with bit of cider. Decent head on a slightly tan / gold body. Flavor has a hint of malt at the start and a cidery tart dry finish. Thin mouthfeel with active carbonation. I was expecting something sweet and muddy was pleasantly surprised. The crisp / tart taste goes well with food.

Slightly corny aroma. Flavor is mostly clean graininess with a little hint of buttery-ness. Meh.

Pours clear amber with a 2 finger fizzy white head that has decent retention. Aroma and flavor are grainy, hints of caramel and toasted nuts, very little hops other than a slight bitterness and planty notes toaward the finish. A fairly inoffensive but toned down and un interesting amber.

Clear copper color with a beige head. Aroma and flavor of grain and corn malts. Some bitterness in the finish.
