Commercial Description:
A 100 percent malted lager, “Leinie’s Classic” features Leinenkugel’s own unique blend of two-row and six-row malts and four varieties of hops. A blend of Pale, Caramel, and Munich malts offer a complex flavor, with four different hops (Cluster, Cascade, Mt. Hood, and Hallertau) to balance the malts. Acknowledging their German heritage, Leinenkugel’s brewed Classic Amber in Reinheitsgebot tradition, where the only ingredients permitted are malts, water, hops, and yeast.

Bottled. Dark copper pour with skunky aroma. Hints of Caramel malt that ended with a metallic taste. Thin in body and very ordinary.

Bottle: The aroma consists of faint caramel, toastiness, and very faint floral and earthy hops. It pours a transparent amber with a moderate and somewhat fizzy off white head that quickly fades to a very thin film. The flavor starts with light-moderate caramel and a hint of fruitiness. The finish is lightly toasty/roasty with some faint herbal/floral hops. Light bodied with some lively carbonation that is somewhat soft. There’s nothing offensive here, so I guess you could call it an average lawnmower beer.

(bottle - 12 oz) Clear amber color with a thin white head. Aroma is very light and slightly nutty with some hints of sweet malts. Flavor is sweet at the beginning with a dry and bitter malt middle and a slightly bitter finish. Finishes clean and dry.

[bottle] Dried fruit and nut aroma with some unsavory caraway. Clear, brownish straw with only a slight ring of white. Sweet malt with moderate bitterness and an overwhelming caraway or some other spice flavour that I do not like in beer. Light to medium body, moderate carbonation, rancid caraway finish. Maybe the hops are off?

Bottled. Light amber brownish on the pour. Aroma is fairly malty. A hint of toasted grain as well. Smooth bready flavors. A little bit of sweetness. Not bad.

On tap at the brewery. Pours a clear light amber with a light off-white head and lacings. Dry with some caramel aromas. Slightly floral. Light bodied. Not a good beer; but the finish is the worst thing, dry with residual sugars and a hint of metals.

Fat tire light. Watery malt aromas and flavors with little other than the base. No nuances to speak of. Not really worth it.
