Commercial Description:
A 100 percent malted lager, “Leinie’s Classic” features Leinenkugel’s own unique blend of two-row and six-row malts and four varieties of hops. A blend of Pale, Caramel, and Munich malts offer a complex flavor, with four different hops (Cluster, Cascade, Mt. Hood, and Hallertau) to balance the malts. Acknowledging their German heritage, Leinenkugel’s brewed Classic Amber in Reinheitsgebot tradition, where the only ingredients permitted are malts, water, hops, and yeast.

A dry-ish malt aroma with some dessert notes, smells like a marzen crossed with a bit of brown ale. Clear, medium brown/tan/orange, good label. Drinkable, crackery, some fruit notes. A tad tangy and not aggressively hopped. Session weight, tannic finish. Winn Dixie.

bottle thanks to bhensonb. thanks again bill. poured a "classic amber" with a white head and some decent lacing. do i get points for using the beer name in the appearance? aroma was caramel, grains, and maybe a slight skunkiness. flavor was caramel, grains, and a very slight bitterness with a light-medium body.

Clear golden orange with a firm white head. Sweet malty aroma. Surprising hops in the flavor. A bit of citrus, orange, full malts, and biscuit. Bubbly mouth that works for this one. Great? No. Surprisingly enjoyable? Yes.

12 oz. bottle- Pours amber with a decent head and lacing, aroma is horrible, it smells like a cheap american lager. The flavor isn’t much better, some roasted malt but lacks depth and flavor, a poor attempt at making an already boring style of beer.

Wow this is garbage. Pours an amber color. With a medium sized head that rapidly shrinks. Notes of burnt toast, corn husks, cereal, and a little bit of metal. Forgettable beer with offensive astringent finish.

[Bottle] Pours a light amber color with a small off-white head. Aroma of grains and sweet caramel malts. Crisp and sweet taste includes mostly malt but also some light hopping towards the finish. A little thin, but overall not a bad beer.

Poured into 4oz sample glass, but I asked for a second pour to make a more proper 8oz review. Plus I was not sampling other beers, so no sample fatigue. Thanks Applebee’s! Very light amber with nice head and slight lacing. Somewhat sweet aroma with notes of caramel and toasted malts. Biscuit and caramel malts balanced by citrusy hops, with light bitterness at the finish. Nice balance overall. Moderate carbonation with a light to medium body. Finishes slightly dry. This would be a very respectable everyday lager. Perhaps the best Leinie’s I have had.

Bottle: Golden color, light white head. Light malt and a tinge of hops in the nose. Flavor is thin and malty, a bit metallic. Light bitter finish, thin and some caramel. Drinkable.
