Pours a dark reddish brown colour with a small vanilla coloured head. Aroma is sweet and nutty, moderately malted on the palate, but tastes is creamy, light and smooth going down. Not as thick as it smells. Has a somewhat dry finish. Trick is to get one fresh (within 3 months of leaving Chippewa Falls, WI) otherwise it seems to stale out. daknole (3028), Scottsdale, Arizona, USA

Pours a dark but not cloudy brown with a nice foamy, creamy tan head. I smell bread and maybe some coffee. Sweet, some malt, some bread and just a hit of hops. For a macro type brew it is actually pretty decent. Tweety (344), Vancouver, Washington, USA

Not a overpowering aroma, but what aroma it has smells like flat macrobrew pale lager. Not a strong flavor either, but what flavor it has is very smooth lacks any real bitterness. The flavor of this beer saves it a very poor rating. FatTony (121), Augusta, Georgia, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | Apr 11, 2008 12 ounce bottle- pours a translucent brown-red with an average wheat colored head. Aroma was smoke and coffee, kind of subtle. Taste was very smokey and mellow with a finish like dried cherries. Mouth feel was perfect, creamy and smooth. Rating this one very high. crowderm (285), Recklinghausen, Germany
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Mar 23, 2008 Pretty nice dark appearance in the glass with a solid head. Smells more or less like any other average lager. The taste is also pretty standard lager, with some subtle hints of roasted malts and maybe some coffee and just a little smokiness. Very decent brew, but nothing I would go out of my way to drink. Unique69crazy (119), Fort Wayne, Indiana, USA
| 2.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 2/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 9/20 | Mar 23, 2008 Bland aroma doesn’t leave much to the imagination, however, it is a good warmer bodied brew. Spirits of toasted coffee beans with a dab of creamer is a way I would describe the taste. Chalky aftertaste will engulf your mouth for a brief while afterwards. For Leinenkugel’s , this is still one of my favorites from the company though.
