Aroma is of roasted malts with undertones of coffee and chocolate. Flavor is mild coffee/chocolate but nothing overpowering or intense. body is medium light with quite a bit of carbonation. Body could be a bit thicker. dchmela (1458), Orlando, Florida, USA
| 2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 3/10 | 2/5 | 8/20 | Feb 6, 2008 Cleanin’ out the beer fridge part 1. Pours dark reddish brown with a thick white head. Musty cardboard aroma with malt sweetness. Thick creamy malty lager, but nothing else to really say about this. lumberjack (178), Michigan, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Feb 3, 2008 Dark, dark brown with a nice mocha like head. Aroma is of roasted malts. Taste isn’t as complex as you might guess by the appearance. It had a nice silky chocolate flavor with very minimal dark malts and also very minimal hop character. Creamy mouthfeel is pleasant. Pretty easy to drink a few of these. Hinez57 (132), Clinton, Mississippi, USA
| 2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 1/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 8/20 | Jan 30, 2008 If Budweiser came out with a Bud-Dark I imagine it would taste like this with the added rice/corn flavor. Overall has a decent bitterness. The hop profile is light and un pronounced. Malt flavor is moderatly evident with a lack of any complexity what so ever. Palate is WAY overcarbed. Overall the only truely offensive part of this beer is the over carbing. As for the good... well there isnt’ anything truely good about this brew, maybe a slight hoppiness. May suggest to some non-craft beer drinker to try as a transition beer.... that’s about the best I can say. Thus far I’ve been underwhelmed with Leinenkugels’ contribution to the beer world.... aside from the novelty of a fruity pebble beer! | 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jan 23, 2008 Poured a very attractive dark brown color with decent head that dissipated slowly. Aroma was of roasted maltiness with hints of chocolate and coffee. Flavor is also malty that is well balanced by a suprising hoppiness. Mouthfeel is good and lacing on glass is decent. Very drinkable beer. shigadeyo (2263), Harrison, Ohio, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jan 22, 2008 1/22/2008: Leinenkugel’s Creamy Dark Lager is a clear cola brown with a foamy tan head that fades away pretty quickly. The aroma and flavor have molasses and roasted malt with hints of chocolate and coffee. The overall flavor is slightly sweet. This beer has a medium-light to medium body and is quite smooth. Leinie’s Creamy Dark is probably my favorite of their mainstream/regular beers.
12 fl. oz. bottle from my parents. Rating #361 for this beer... mmmbeer (765), Austin, Texas, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jan 21, 2008 From in person trade with ketchepillar, 12 oz. bottle- poured into shaker- poured near black with thin light tan head, aroma of lightly roasted malts, very little carbonation. Hits the mouth with a medium body, a dull sweetness hits your tongue first, followed by a light creaminess and even a touch of hops, finish fades away quickly. I can drink it when it’s 30 outside or when it’s 100. johnadam2002 (529), Hainesport, New Jersey, USA
