Not bad, didnt think it was an american dark lager...I would have guessed porter. Not a big fan of the style in general, but not bad. wcampbell (584), Central, South Carolina, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Oct 28, 2007 A decent dark lager, better than the other lenie beer I have had. Tastes mostly like a porter, dominated by roasted malt flavor. No hop profile at all. Bland, but easily drinkable. tjpasley79 (29), Omaha, Nebraska, USA

It was not what I had hoped for in taste, but if you like darks with good scent, this is a nice choice. travita (1960), Frisco, Texas, USA

| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Oct 16, 2007 Bottle from a six pack bought from John’s Grocery (Iowa City, IA). Poured into a conical pint glass. Pours a deep brown with some vague ruby impressions in the light I am in. Has a respectable head on pour, but I really expected more and for it to stay around longer. Dissipates very quickly. Smell is pleasant but very faint. Roasted malts and maybe a touch of coffee seem to be the waff. Nice mouthfeel on first sip. Tastes of roasted malt and slightly of coffee much like the smell. A sweet pleasant finish that grows on me, but I don’t think it’s cholocate. Enjoyable aftertaste that won’t overstay it’s welcome. A nice pleasant offering from Leinie’s and a dark lager that holds it’s own. I will drink this again.
