| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Sep 30, 2007 Pours cola brown with mahogany highlights and a creamy, frothy, beige head that laces nicely. The aroma is of dark roasted malt and a weak blend of coffee and tea. Light-bodied and thin with lightly creamy carbonation and a tight, dry finish. An interesting brew that possesses porter flavors with a lager mouthfeel: roasted malt, iced tea and coffee round out the flavor profile. This is on of Leinie’s better offerings. It’s light and drinkable with many of the more robust flavors you’d expect from a porter. I like this one. 37steel (186), St. Charles, Illinois, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Sep 27, 2007 Bottle. Nice dark brown with hints of red. Thick off-white head. Very sweet caramel / crystal malt aroma. Body is a bit thin, but taste is sharp. Lingering chocolate finish. kp (8500), Woodstock, Georgia, USA

| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Aug 27, 2007 Bottle. Dark, with a thick tan head. Rich, deep malt aroma, with just a hint of malt. Sweet and light, with a hearty roasted malt flavor. Bigger flavor than the body would indicate. SHANER4 (381), Green Bay, Wisconsin, USA
| 0.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 1/10 | 2/5 | 1/10 | 1/5 | 2/20 | Aug 26, 2007 This is one nasty beer. Tasted like burnt rubber mixed with a hint of burnt twigs and rotting corpse. And What a surprise, This is a top 10 beer on my list. Wonderful nose on this one, very complex for a local brewery. This isn’t a Microbrew but t does hold its own very well in that arena. Very Dark pour, nice head, whish it were a bit thicker and longer lasting, but it does lace well on the glass (pilsner). Definately taste the Munich malts in this one and perhaps some chocolate, You can’t miss the Mt Hood hops, which is an American Classic hopin my book. But there are at least 2 other hops in the mix, and they blend very well, which makes it hard to tell what they are, maybe cascade????
Give this one a try. I special ordered a whole case after draining all the creamy darks from that sampler in a weekend. natedoggkc (164), Lenexa, Kansas, USA
