Leinenkugels Creamy Dark

From a Leinenkugel sampler case recieved as a Christmas gift from my well-meaning sister. Light malty aroma, very dark brown color, nice head that quickly dissipates, malt and cheap grain flavors battle it out for prominence. The best of the Leinies in the case, but that’s not saying much. I would never buy any SABMiller product and only drank these becuase (1) my sister is a really great person, and (2) I can answer "yes" when asked if I’ve ever drank any Leinenkugel products without having to listen to a speech about how great they are and how I ought to try them.

Rated 1/17/06: This is one of my favorite American Dark Lagers for many reasons. Great dark amber color, pours well into a glass. The creamy head does dissapear to next to nothing but a good lacing remains. The aroma is real nice lots of malts and some hops can easily be detected. Good roasted flavor along with some chocolate and maybe a bit of licorice. Finishes strong and very drinkable. This is a quality dunkel that goes well with a good meal or simply on its own.

Deep black in color, average off white head. Nose is roasted malts, chocolate chip cookies, hints of smoke, and a touch of nutyness. Body is a bit thin compared to the color and aromas. Also, this beer tasted a bit like tobacco at first which was a major turn off. Mellowed out through out the drink and became quite pleasent.

A medium quality dark beer that satisfies many senses. Palate is thick and aroma is equivalent. Flavor is less appealing than I had imagined but not bad at all.

12 oz. Opaque black with nice lasting tan head. Very little aroma, but slight lager, sweet malt and nope lost it, it’s all gone. Palate begins fizzy, but does finish pretty creamy. Flavor is sweet malt, with slight roasted malt, distinct lager and slight bittnerness. It’s better than that fricken Leinies red I had yesterday... stupid left over beers.

This is a very good, smooth, malty, dark beer. The aroma is sweet malt. It is very dark and has a medium lite tan head. The flavor is delicate or not as harsh as most dark beers and it is very smooth going down. A very good lager.

Pours a light brown color with a tan head. Aroma is malty, slightly spicy. Flavor is malty, slightly spicy, nutty, with a spicy finish.

pours translucent black/brown with sizable tan head. has a chocolate front and slight hop edge but the flavor slides away quickly. the malt provides some body and low carbonation gives it a smooth taste. its a decent dark lager but is a little light on flavor for my tastes.
