| 2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 4/5 | 3/10 | 2/5 | 8/20 | Apr 22, 2007 Updated: Apr 25, 2007The aroma has toasted malt, wood, skunk, and herbs. The appearance is brown with a three finger head. The flavor is like the aroma but much more burnt tasting. The palate is thin. This is a sub-par beer in almost every way. | 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Apr 21, 2007 Bought this at Sams in a sampler case. Its from Miller how bad can it be.Ha. Pours a deep, rich mahogany coor with a creamy white head.Everything about the flavor is slight.Had they turned the notch up on one certain thing it would make this beer slightly better.Coffee, caramel, roasted malts, nuts and smoke.Like i said everything is slight.Mouthfeel is silky and smooth. The finish has some roastedness to it, also leaving a tingling in my mouth. goldtwins (4080), Nesconset, New York, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Apr 21, 2007 Poured a clear dark amber with a small cream off-white head. Roasty malt aroma with a mild sweetness. Just a hint of coffee. Moderately roasted flavor with a touch of coffee. Light to medium bodied. ChugMan (24), USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Apr 20, 2007 The one negative thing I have to say about this beer is that it caries the distinct aroma and flavor of black licorice - which I positively detest. It isn’t the sole or even dominating flavor here, but was present nonetheless. ClarkVV (3578), Allston, Massachusetts, USA

I also think I saw a penny in the bottom of the bottle My friend’s wife bought all of us this beer to try to be nice to him, knowing that he and his friends enjoyed craft beer. Well, he didnt tell us that, and we all sat there talking about how awful the stuff was in front of her, without knowing. That was mildly funny. She was not impressed. JazzyJonas (11), USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Apr 13, 2007 Leinenkugel’s (say that five times fast) claim to fame is their wheat beers, which I’ve heard are terrific. I don’t personally like wheat beers, but this creamy dark I do like. Lighter and easier to drink (alot) than most dark lagers. Big jolt of deeply roasted hop and malt flavor, quickly dissipating into a clean, watery finish. Unusual, it is. It has a pretty strong carbonation burn, almost like cola, but fades quickly into a mild cocoa/nutmeg kind of flavor. Probably my favorite dark lager - better than Sam Adams’ Black lager - and that’s saying something! pretty cheap too Skyview (4055), Papoose Jct., Minnesota, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Apr 9, 2007 Picked up bottle from Casanova in Hudson. Pours a dark drown opaque brew with a beige thick head. Fades very quickly. Aroma is a bit corny with little hop bitterness. Taste a bit watery with highlights of caramel, and chocolate. Finsih is watery and light.
