| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Apr 4, 2007 Pours a deep ruby color with a tighter creamy head. Aromas of roastiness, chocolate, and some banana ester. Somewhat dunkel like. Flavor is a bit thin, but easy drinking, and for Leinies, one of their better offerings. Very crisp clean finish. Not bad for a dark lager. Brewosk (137), Illinois, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Apr 4, 2007 Good roast malt with hints of coffee and burnt caramel. Foamy head, from a bottle at Woodman’s. BustedFlat (553), Edina, Minnesota, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Apr 3, 2007 Poured from a 12 ounce bottle into a shaker, pitch black with a thin beige head. Aroma was light with notes of roasted malt and a hint of coffee. The taste was slightly sweet and very subtle with hints of malt and dark chocolate. The mouthfeel was a bit thin and watery. Not bad, but there are certainly a lot better dark beers out there. waolsen (1222), Littleton, Colorado, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Apr 1, 2007 bottle. mahogony pour with nice clarity and foamy head. big musky hip and malt arfoma. creamy, sour, dank nutty flavor. reminds me of drinking outside in the cold. | 2.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 9/20 | Mar 31, 2007 12 oz. bottle. Pours a dark cola color with a very thin dissipating head and active carbonation. A slightly sweet yet earthy nose; very subtle. The taste is barely there as well, just a slightly smokey beginning with a slightly thinned and watered down malt finish. Very thin and watery for the word "cream" to appear on the label. Not astringent to the tongue at all. Overall, a slightly boring but not terrible dark lager. JAF737300 (797), Tampa, Florida, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Mar 27, 2007 A nice deep brown beer with a firm head. It shows a nice flavor of hops and malt that round out with a crisp smooth finish. dumacub (15), dayton, Ohio, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Mar 22, 2007 Pours dark, dark amber with a small head that quickly dissipates. I think i would have liked the appearance more if not for the "creamy" in the name which makes me think of a nice thick head. Colour was nice though
Can’t actually in good conscience say what it initially smelled like, but after a few sips it had a malty caramel smell, which was still not entirely pleasant.
Taste was extremely balanced. Hops, malt, caramel, coffee, with a little bit of bitterness are all there. It’s pleasant, but in no way special.
Mouthfeel is a nice amount of carbonation although light bodied and a little watery, but i like the way it uses your whole tongue to taste.
Easy drinking beer that lends itself to another despite being nothing special. Almost too balanced as it doesn’t really stand out in any significant way. kujo9 (1077), North Ridgeville, Ohio, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Mar 2, 2007 12 oz bottle: Mohogany brown w/a lasting darker cream colored head. Initial aromas are toasted, roasted, and grainy malts. As it warms it becomes more toasty & roasty, and has hints of green apple and a touch of sulphury yeast. Flavor is much the same, clean and toasted with some light roasted coffee flavor. Finish is on the semi dry side and has a lightly roasted aftertaste. High carbonation makes for an initially prickly to downright biting mouthfeel if held prior to swallowing. Lighter body. Not a bad beer! I’m not really into lagers in general, but this is halfway decent as you can taste some actual grains instead of tasting like a bland, adjunct laden macro beer!
