Dark brown colour with an almond frothy head. The nose is brown sugar and malty. I’ve got to say that I was surprised by some of the higher ratings that this beer got. I thought that it was a bit too spritzy, thin, and lacking in quite a few other areas such as hops and malt thickness. Not a great dunkel.

Nice smooth dark beer. Roasted malt flavor and not too bitter. Another excellent beer brewed by leinenkugels.

The 12 ounce bottle poured a clear dark reddish brown colored beverage with an average sized creamy head that was mostly lasting and left good lacing on the glass. The aroma was quite intriguing. It had a predominant damp roasted grain aroma with notes of bread, nuts and a hint of salt water driftwood in the background. The body was medium light with lively carbonation and a dry texture. The flavor started off tart with a hint of sweetness in the back. The finish was medium-long crisp and lightly astringent.

This is a nice dark beer, especially for the price. It pours a deep dark brown color with a small off-white head. It has a nice roasty aroma, and the taste matches. The flavors are roasted malt, with some coffee flavoring mixed in there as well. It has a great mouthfeel, and very little aftertaste. One of the best values you can find for a beer of this quality.

12oz bottle: aroma and flavor of malt, dark malt. they got the creamy right, but i think the flavor lacks a little extra something that would make it fabulous. or maybe i just got a dud bottle. pretty basic dunkel, but in the area you wont find much better than this for the price. if you’re ever in the neighborhood of chippewa falls wisconsin, pints of leinenkugels are often 50 cents to a dollar.. so enjoy the brew.

This beer has a malty aroma. I thought it was quite a good beer. It is not very strong but good.

12oz bottle-An aroma of malt on a dark black with a head that retains pretty well. A taste of malt. A light body. Not a bad beer but could be better.
