Basically a medium bodied lager with a slightly roasted character. Clean aroma but very slight. Goes down pleasantly. One of Lienie’s better offerings. ihopgod (12), Roseville, Minnesota, USA

I would like to give it a higher rating but I just think that there is a lot of room for improvement. A nice appearence, but watery and roasty with a little something else going on. Maybe a small mocha finish but nothing to write home about. Haven’t had too many great dark lagers to be honest. JoshuaB (428), Detroit, Michigan, USA
| 1.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 2/5 | 3/10 | 2/5 | 6/20 | Nov 27, 2005 Dark brown with some tan head. Dark, but not very creamy. Interesting. At least they got the second part right. Aroma is maybe some smoked malts here and there, nothing really discernible. Taste is just nappy. Has some funky nasty vegetalness going on that no one could get into. Thin, but smooth. As Nelson would say; "this creamed beer tastes like creamed crap." jb (1058), Rochester, New York, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Nov 19, 2005 Dark brown with a reddish tinge. No head to speak of. Coffee aroma jumps out. Palate of roasted malt, hops and coffee. Not bad. JakeFr5150 (23), Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, USA

I’ve been curious to try it and glad that I did. Pours a nice dark brown, almost black color - still see through though. Tan head forms quickly, but lasts all of 3 seconds, or 1 sip, whichever comes first. Very earth aroma and taste, sort of like a Guinness, but more like a watered down slightly one. No harsh alcoholic taste or anything, but has a weird sour milk aftertaste. The good outweighs the bad though. Would make a good substitute as a cheap alternative to most stouts or porter, in my opinion. igneous1 (1374), Davenport, Iowa, USA
