My brother-inlaw (Alan) wanted me to pick out a dark beer for him. I’ve never tried this before so I suggested he buy this so that I could rate it. He had a Yuengling black and tan there and the 2 beers were undistinguishable. Now I’m wondering what marks I gave that beer.

Dark, but very little sweetness, which I expect from a dunkel. Light smoke. Significantly improved by blending 2 parts with 1 part berry weiss; bringing out smoke and fruit flavors.

Draft. Dark brown color with medium tan head. Aroma was medium toated chocolate like malt. Flavor was much the same as aroma with a nutty tone and a good creamy finish. Good for normal pub draft.

i dont know what i expected from this beer, but it sounded good; dark brown appearance with medium off-white head...aroma is a tad indistinct, some chocolate and roasted malts; flavor is that of an uncharacteristic porter...mild in chocolate, a tad bitter and somewhat unappetizing.....

Tap-Old Chicago. Transparent brown with a decent beige head. Aroma and flavor is very weak/bland in general. Nothing offensive, just nothing going on. Faint roast and sweet malt. Thin body. FWIW very clean.

Pours dark like a nice winter evening. The taste is somewhat subdued, with the malt taking center stage. A smoky aftertaste is present on the back of the tongue, reminiscent of a mild rauschbier. Not bad. Not bad at all. Thanks, robertsreality!

This is a good dark... Not as good as others, but better than most. It was tasty and smooth.
