I’ve never tried this before so I suggested he buy this so that I could rate it. He had a Yuengling black and tan there and the 2 beers were undistinguishable. Now I’m wondering what marks I gave that beer. JK (2967), Richfield, Minnesota, USA
| 1.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 2/5 | 3/10 | 2/5 | 8/20 | Apr 23, 2005 Dark, but very little sweetness, which I expect from a dunkel. Light smoke. Significantly improved by blending 2 parts with 1 part berry weiss; bringing out smoke and fruit flavors. Tmoney99 (4800), Cincinnati, Ohio, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Apr 14, 2005 Draft. Dark brown color with medium tan head. Aroma was medium toated chocolate like malt. Flavor was much the same as aroma with a nutty tone and a good creamy finish. Good for normal pub draft. badnewsbeers (1026), Grand Rapids, Michigan, USA

| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | Mar 25, 2005 Pours dark like a nice winter evening. The taste is somewhat subdued, with the malt taking center stage. A smoky aftertaste is present on the back of the tongue, reminiscent of a mild rauschbier. Not bad. Not bad at all. Thanks, robertsreality! tbarnette (105), Allen Park, Michigan, USA
