Flavor is nice but just a little weak for a Creamy Dark beer. Malty taste and aroma, mild chocolate nutty feel, good and smooth, overall a very good beer. You can’t beat the price, will definitely buy again. WisconsinBeer (526), St Paul, Minnesota, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Feb 14, 2005 Not real thick on the palate, but it doesnt come across as watery. Roasted malts and chocolate seem to be the primary flavors. Nothing real complex but nonetheless tasty in its own way. A great beer for the price. One of my favorite everyday beers to keep in the fridge. Muckrakerr (33), Muskegon, Michigan, USA

Pours with a nice, creamy head. Good dark roasted malt aroma. Dark brown color had me licking my lips. Flavor was a bit of a letdown; starts well but finishes a tad weak. For $4.99 a six pack, I can’t get mad at Leinie. Dansting (222), Overland Park, Kansas, USA

| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jan 19, 2005 smells a bit dirty or old, but there’s a roastiness that resides throughout this whole beer. it’s a bit cremey, a bit of coco, and it’s dark. and it’s pretty good. but that dirty old stale element just rides its way within the aroma and flavor. not bad, and this is my favorite leiny, but i’m just hoping this is the way it is because it’s not fresh. i remember this use to be one of my favorite brews! | 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jan 13, 2005 Mahogany color, lighter tan head. Aroma of nuts, light roast, malty in general. Light cocoa, again some nuttiness and roast, slightly metallic. Light to medium body. Creamy? Maybe. Decent for a session, but really nothing too special. beastdog75 (337), Brick, New Jersey, USA
