Overall not a bad Dark Lager. Smells of faint malts with a nice dark, nearly opaque pour with a slightly creme colored head. You can taste notes of creme but the beer itself doesn’t seem to have much substance. It should be just a bit richer. Though a good first beer for anyone looking to try something a bit darker.

Pours Mahogany redish brown with a creamy 3 finger paper tan head. Aroma is of sweet grainy malt, toasted nuts, a little ashy roast. Flavor is roasty, toasty malt, a little corny, bitter grain and planty hops. FInish is nutty, bitter, a little metallic and slightly dry. Body is overly thin but has an appropriate amount of carbonation.

As one would expect from looking at the photo (stage left) this beer appears to be incredibly inviting: dark, dark, dark color with a thick white head. The aroma as well is of roasted nuts which takes the intrigue to the next level. Unfortunately this is where the compliments end. The taste was thin, slightly bitter, and had a peculiar element that didn’t seem natural. The aftertaste as well showed much of the same. These folks at Leinenkugels appear to really want to make a great beer, but they haven’t found the right combination just yet. This is a lousy beer.

Pours a dark ruby brown with a thin tan head. Sweet nutty malty aroma. Taste is nutty with a nitro like creaminess and a light bitter finish.

12 oz. bottle. Pours a thin head, with very nice lacing over a clear dark (SRM 20) body....nose slightly spicy malt ....taste slight sweet malt, minimal complexity.....thin light mouth feel. 12/07/2008

Decent brew. Pretty simple, easy to drink. Thin bodied, smooth, not creamy.

Had this one at the Leinenkugel’s brewery. Consistent quality batch-to-batch and quite smooth overall.

Bottle. Pours dark brown whith a creamy tan head that fizzles out slowly. Smells nutty, carmely, and roasty. Tastes sweet, malty, nutty carmely and roasty. Follows with some bitter, but nice thick body leaves a long aftertaste. Very pleasant.
