Leinenkugels Fireside Nut Brown Ale

Sampled from a bottle at SL. Poured a full copper to light brown color with a nice tan colored head. The aroma was nuts, grass, faint brown malts (I guess it was chocolate?). The flavor followed along with some caramel and was quite nice in that it wasn’t sweet. Some off oxidized or DMS notes kept this from being quite good. But, I think they nailed the brew very well in that they didn’t let it get brown / malty sweet overloaded. That much, I appreciated! Mouthfeel was light and dry.

Bottle tasted, appropriately, beside a fire. Straight out of the bottle, so I have no idea what it looks like. Mild, inoffensive nose and taste. Not too malty or rich or hoppy. Sweet, slightly nutty and maple. Maybe a bit of wood and a kiss of smoke, but that could have been the real fire.

Medium amber pour from a 12 oz bottle. Two fingers of off white head that quickly fades, despite very active arbonation. Aroma of malt with nutty overtones. LIght bodied with light matly flavor and pleasant roasted malt overtones. Mild hops in the finish. Slight metallic aftertaste is the only negative. Thin on th etongue but the lively carbonation gives it a little character. Not as full bodied as I’d like an ale to be, but decent enough.

This is new product the Chippewa Falls. The color is dark amber with a small head that disappeared. The beer had some sweetness and carmel flavors. It could use some more hops. A drinkable beer for most any event. The beer could have more head and lacing.

A very decent drinkable beer. The flavor has some nice sweet caramel and nuts. However, I get a little bit too much of a metallic flavor from the beer along with it. The flavor does have some good malt. Overall nice but nothing stands out a lot either.

12 oz bottle; Doughy, nutty, caramel and light aromas of spice in this nut brown. Appearance is a clear brownish/fred with a small off white head that lingers for quite a while. Taste has some cocoa notes, more of a raw cocoa the you would get out of the qwick container, light caramel, nutty, and a lingering nutty bitterness. Overall, I mean it’s alright. Nothing stellar, But a drinkable beer. Cheers!

More of an english nut brown, light body and a nice light nutty/cocoa finish, I can drink a lot of these, I like thicker bodied Browns, but my palate is chalanged enough, I think this one is nice for a change...all Leinies are somewhat lighter than what the label say’s.

dark copper colored beer. light body. Toasty, nutty, and a little sweet. Nice aromas of perhaps maple and caramels.
