Strong aromas of pralines and ice cream sugar cone. Light body with ample effers. Flavors of nuts, wafers, creamed coffee bean, and maple preside. The finish is bittered with a touch of acid. Maple aroma with a mild nuttyness (maple donut glaze). Very mild up front flavor of malt with a very sweet finish. Mild smoked malts taste late in the swallow of the brew. Watery palate and cloying sweet. kmeves (1080), Mount Pleasant, Wisconsin, USA
| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Jan 14, 2009 Pours a clear copper/ amber with a quickly dissipating off-white head. Aroma is sweet with caramel malt, fake maple syrup, roasted nuts, toffee and old fruit. Flavor is caramel malt, light toffee, fake maple syrup, light floral and chocolate. Finish is sweet and has somewhat of a wierd fruity aftertaste. Light to medium bodied, very thin mouthfeel for a brown ale. Really more of a brown lager if there is such a thing. finishyourbeer (13), , Pennsylvania, USA

| 2.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 7/20 | Jan 11, 2009 12 oz bottle. Pours a completely clear light brown body with just a minimal white head that faded very quickly. The nose is actually pretty inviting, lots of dry roasted nuttiness with a bit of a Nutella chocolate/hazelnut character. The flavor is pretty thin with a weird caramel and vanilla extract front that tastes very artificial. The artificial hazelnut tasting finish is just a little too sweet, tastes like they poured a hefty dose of Log Cabin "maple-flavoed" syrup in here after it fermented. The mouthfeel is watery with a lingering sweetness that really gets to be a bit much the more and more you drink of it. Overall, this wasn’t too good. TKA300 (100), Carbondale, Illinois, USA
| 1.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 3/5 | 3/10 | 2/5 | 3/20 | Jan 10, 2009 Pretty awful. Took the good things about beer and replaced it with a shoddy attempt at flavor. Leinenkugel’s is pretty awful in general, and this is no exception. fatguys (65), Wisconsin, USA
| 2.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Jan 9, 2009 This is not an ale. It doesn’t claim to be an ale. It’s just a "nut brown" .... Leinie’s lager with some different malts. This pours OK with a medium brow hue and a thin head. Notes of chocolate, nuts, hazelnut, but it seems very forced, i.e, artificial. Thin mouthfeel. Metallic finish. A strange brew that will appear to women and rubes who think they’re drinking something exotic or high class.
