Light copper appearance with a thin white head. Faint maple syrup aroma with some roasted notes as well. Flavor has some maple syrup notes, some nuttiness with hints of caramel and just a touch of chocolate. Just a tad metallic in the finish and a bit thin in the mouthfeel. Nice change of pace though. ericandersnavy (1067), crossroads, Texas, USA

Aroma of vanilla and caramel malt. Flavor has more of the vanilla nut thing going on with a strange artificial note to it ... more like vanilla extract than vanilla bean. Was not crazy about this one. FlssmrBrewAlum (1152), Lisle, Illinois, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Dec 22, 2008 12 oz bottle from the variety pack. My first shot at this new entry and hopefully better replacement for the Apple Spice. Pours an iced tea-ish brownish copper, largely transparent, with large tannish head that dissipates quickly to a small level. Aromas inclued a nice maltiness, nutty characters, maple syrup, and touches of brown sugar. Taste is lighter bodied brew, easily sessionable, touches of brown sugar, waffles with maple syrup, and notes of hazelnuts. Sweet maltiness without being cloying. Fairly light bodied. Minimal lacing. Loads better than its predecessor. Nice. SHANER4 (377), Green Bay, Wisconsin, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Dec 22, 2008 12 oz. bottle - Poured clear reddish brown color with no head.
Aroma - maple syrup and caramel.
Flavor - roasted hazelnut and water. Almost like drinking carbonated water.
Palate - thin mouthfeel with below average carbonation. Finish is light with hazelnut finish.
Overall - Pretty much what I expected, watery brew with hardly any flavor. It is not horrible but not great! chandler0201 (345), Durham, North Carolina, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Dec 22, 2008 Really muted aroma of hops, but not much else. Flavor is strong, of toasted nuts and a bit of charcoal. Interesting taste, but nothing spectacular. The taste is not remarkable or particularly strong, but it has a nice malty taste with faint hints of spice and chocolate, hardly noticeable but nice. Overall, a solid and enjoyable but not especially remarkable brown holiday beer.
