A darker beer yet clear, must be filtered, heheh. Taste is very unique but I can’t really say its chocalate in nature. Quite full of flavor but its weirdly darkish is a good way. Strange mildly bitter almost chocolate but more like old wood or leather aftertaste. Different for a change. OzarkElmo (134), Poplar Bluff, Missouri, USA

From bottle poured into shaker glass. Nice colorful head, aroma and color. Very tasty, hint of caramel, chocolate. Smooth yet alarming to the palate. Very enjoyable, and I have been recommending it to others. Since initial review have tasted three times. I stand my my rating. A good seasonal beer - Cheers! lithy (1849), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA

| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Dec 26, 2008 Brown color with a tanish head that fades fast. Toasted nutty toffee flavors. Syrupy sweetness that tastes fake, but this fades to yield a tiny bit of hop flavor and some caramel. Body is thin and watery. fidelis83 (729), Clinton, Iowa, USA
| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Dec 25, 2008 Pours a perfect brown with a 2 finger beige head, that fades in 2 minutes or so to a skim and ring. Aroma is big on roasted and candied nuts, almost artificialy strongtheres some toffee and vanilla in there too. Flavor has roasted nuts and super sweet toffee up front, then roast malt, maple syrup, and some adjuncty flavors. Finish is toast, chocolate, and a hint of bitterness. Body is thin and sweet with a chalky finish. The problem with this beer is that it tastes unnatural, it is a weak beer with overblown malt charater that leads me to believe it is full of flavoring additives, it just isnt quite right. astrofrk (219), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA

Aroma was smokey and mellow. Taste followed suit, leading off with a pipe-smoke flavor that kind of deteriorated into a wet cardboard let-down. Would have liked a thicker mouth-feel.
