Chocolate malt taste that finished a little bitter. My favorite leinies product yet. FarFromHome (84), Philadelphia, Alabama, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 10/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Dec 5, 2009 Smells like the inside of my favorite pub back home. Almost zero head, but great walnut color. The nut taste is pronounced, and a little... surprising? I think I would describe this as interesting more than delicious. Not really sure how I feel about it. jbye4334 (719), Colorado Springs, Colorado, USA

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Dec 2, 2009 12 oz. bottle- Pours reddish amber with little head, aroma isn’t as good as I was expecting, but has faint aromas of nut. The flavor at first is too watery and kind of bland, but after the swallow a very nice nutty flavor opens up in your mouth. There is potential for an excellent Nut Brown here, just needs more depth. carruthm (1171), Seattle, Washington, USA

| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Dec 1, 2009 Bottle. Deep amber, clear body. Off white, rapidly diminishing head. Nice roasty aroma of grain, nuts, ash with a whiff of coffee. The flavor is lightly to moderately sweet, lightly bitter. It finishes lightly sweet andlightly bitter. Medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation. The beer starts with a hit of strong coffee-like roast with a nutty flavor in the middle. It turns lightly tart. Crisp and clean. Nothing complex. Straightforward and easy drinking. phaleslu (573), Cincinnati, Ohio, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Dec 1, 2009 12 oz. bottle at a friend’s condo in Chicago. Pours a clear brown color with a medium tan head. Nutty aroma, mostly hazelnut, along with brown sugar, roasted malt, caramel, and milk chocolate. The flavor follows suit- very nutty and brown sugary, giving a maple syrup kind of flavor but not that texture. Sweet, and roasty in a lighter way. Light-medium bodied, with a corn syrupy (that is, not thick) mouthfeel. This typifies Leinenkugel beers for me- very aggressively flavored, but in an artificial sort of way.
