| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Aug 26, 2009 12oz bottle. Poured a medium and clear brown color with a smaller sized off white head. Aromas of toasted nuts, and caramel. Aromas of the subtle side and I really had to inhale to get anything. Tastes of nuts, caramel, and lightly toasty. jcwattsrugger (5563), Florida and, New Jersey, USA

Aroma is fruity/yeast initially then improves with medium malt-chocolate/nutty, grain/husky. Taste does not quite mesh. Aspirin/chalky, fruity/yeast, medium malt-peat/chocolate/nutty, grain/husky, some earthy hops, artificial sweetener. Thanks jwc215 for picking this out.

| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 2/5 | 13/20 | Feb 5, 2009 Bottle… Sparkling clear copper ale with a small, creamy, off-white head. Decent retention. Toasty, nutty, caramely aroma with plenty of vanilla. Light-bodied with fizzy carbonation. Perfectly balanced, thin and refreshing. Lots more vanilla in the flavor. More like a spiced cream ale than a nut brown ale… a la Anderson Valley Cerveza Crema. Finishes crisp with a pleasant, lasting, suggestion of vanilla. I’m a vanilla guy. Underrated, I think. Kudos to Kevin Berry for providing this refreshing bottle of beer! Cornfield (4963), Oak Forest, Illinois, USA

A splash of caramel is added to the flavor. Interesting. I took a gander of some of the other ratings, and it seems we’ve all been drinking different beers. JPDIPSO (4926), Wauwatosa, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Oct 19, 2008 Clear dark copper color with just a hint of garnet. Toasted, slightly smokey malt scents. Hazelnuts, caramel, and mild maple aromas as well. I will not disagree that his does seem like a scent fitting for an outdoor fireside. Sweet maple from the start. Mixes of maple candy, honey, hazelnuts and mesquite. I am not a big fan of the sweeter flavored brews. I do seem to be reminded of griddle cakes on a cold fall day, when the pan is a bit too hot and the bacon grease is used and the the cakes have a dark crunchy edge. Memories of yore. | 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 9/20 | Dec 2, 2008 Bottle: Pours a brown color with a tan head and light lacing. The nose is smoky with a fake caramel and nutty note, seems VERY fake and roasty. Weird maple chemical note. Nutty finish but thin. Blech! Tmoney99 (4775), Cincinnati, Ohio, USA
