The maple taste is soft and barley noticeable and is the Hazel nut. But what a mix and perfect balance. If this is what we have to look forward to in Leinenkugels ‘s craft line it is going to be one to watch !!!

Let warm a little in the glass before you smell and drink so that you can appreciate the characteristics. jerrytimes (9), Roseville, Michigan, USA does not count | 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Oct 30, 2008 This beer pours amber in color with a nice head of foam on top that doesn’t last too long. The taste shocked me. It’s got a slight chocolate/carmel taste but the nut flavor is really noticable, in a good way. I’ve never tasted anything like it. jimmack34 (569), Lancaster, Ohio, USA

Tastes sweet, with a carnival of flavors. Maple is the primaryflavor with some toffee, roasted nuts, vanilla, butter, and carmel. Tastes like dessert from the state fair, or butter pecan waffles. One of the most unusual beers I ever had, but definately an excellent brew. drowland (1418), Tallahassee, Florida, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Aug 13, 2009 The aroma is like... well... beer. The flavor is big roasted malt, practically like chewing on the grains themselves with touches of chocolate, caramel, and nuts. Tasty indeed! I really enjoy this beer and hope they make it again next winter! raymow (738), Bensalem, Pennsylvania, USA

On the downside, the flavor almost tastes artificial. Overall though I like it and would recommend it. missing (72), Wichita, Kansas, USA

I agree, it is a flavored beer (like many of their other offerings) but this one actually works for me. I like the nutty sweet hazelnut flavor though I think it could use a little more hops to balance it out. All in all, not a bad beer.
