williamherbert (461), Syracuse, New York, USA Nov 7, 2009 Clear straw-colored B/M/C looking beer. Does have a decent head. Looks like a pale lager with a stubborn head.
Mild wheaty base in the smell, but a sweet hint of honey as well. It’s mostly lagerish but with some tweaks. Certainly not unpleasant; underwhelming.
Sweetish wheat/lager flavor. Has a nice honey that translates to a slight lemon. Aftertaste actually better than the "taste."
The feel is a slightly bubbly lagery feel. Somewhat dry. It’s a light, minor drin. Pleasant enough, though. Good for summer. Goes down easy for sure.
bsp77 (191), Minnesota, USA Oct 30, 2009 Poured from bottle into Single glass.
Bright, clear yellow with very little head.
Not too much smell going on here. Light semi-sweet malts, a touch of honey and hops.
Light, slightly fruity malts with some honey. Not as sweet as I feared, and finishes crisp.
Pretty high carbonation and light body.
Nothing special, but not bad, and it certainly is refreshing.
BückDich (4793), McCall, Idaho, USA Oct 27, 2009 Bottle: Pours a pale gold color with light white fizzy head. The nose is lightly wheaty with a tangy metallic citrusy note. Not really that fresh tasting though. Sweet flavor, some vague bitter honey notes and a zesty pith note in the tail. meh. 17thfloor (1403), Chicago, Illinois, USA Oct 13, 2009 12oz bottle. I drank a ton of this stuff in college because the Leinenkugels would always come in and do monthly promotions at ’the bar.’ I won a free Leinenkugels winter jacket too! Pours a clear glowing golden with a finer fizzy white froth. Aroma of honey, melon, vanilla, hibiscus, wax, some toasted wheat. Flavor follows, tastes like a scented candle. Some lemon towards the end. skoisirius (570), Seattle, Washington, USA Oct 6, 2009 Somewhat of a run of the mill American wheat with a nice touch of honey that smooths out the heavy carbonation. Slightly spiced after taste that rings well. Kind of watery. Great in the summer, but nothing too exciting. More honey could be fun... derekbrown (17), Greenville, North Carolina, USA Oct 5, 2009 Not nearly as good as their Sunset Wheat, but still a decent beer. When choosing a commercially available wheat beer, l usually go with Sunset Wheat, but the Honey Weiss is a decent alternative. DonKi11uminati (43), , Indiana, USA Sep 18, 2009 My girlfriend loves this beer. It has too much citrus for my taste, and a little too much honey as well. However, it is refreshing and smooth and sort of spicy and interesting overall. It has moderate carbonation, a little malt and wheat. It’s very drinkable but overstated in the citrus and honey. Fratto (670), Arlington, Texas, USA Sep 15, 2009 This is not a bad wheat. The honey flavor buries the wheat flavors, though.
