The aroma is of wheat, light grass, and some honey. The flavor is of pale lager type quality, wheat though instead of corn (thank goodness), some cake-like yeast character in a dry, clean, and even slightly bitter (faint grassy hop flavors) finish. The honey is faint, done quite nice, and the mouthfeel is super light, drinkable like an English bitter. This is one of my favorite swill products out there. Original nostalgic rating: Wish I could find a close replica of this in my area. Fruit wheat beers are everywhere, but honey and wheat... Yum! This one is worth a try if you like wheat beers. Awesome golden color and an honest honey taste (doesn’t taste like they just mixed in honey after brewing). Throw in a few WI brats to go along with this and you’ve got yourself a tailgate! buckybeer (666), Eau Claire, Wisconsin, USA

Most of the Leinies brews are very good as a camping - fishing - drink straight from the bottle beer. The Honey Weiss is a nice crisp refreshing summer beer. The color is a clear golden with a decent white head. The flavor is light with some slight honey sweetness and a touch of bitterness. The aftertaste is light and refreshing. sfontain (506), Columbus, Ohio, USA

Smells and tastes almost identical, too, except I get the impression they added slightly more sugar to this brew. Same barely-bitter aftertaste, same fakey corn syrup nose and flavor. Barely thicker and barely less sticky. American wheat, my ass. This makes me wonder if they didn’t run out of beer and start selling Coors in Leine bottles. keoki182 (305), West Bend, Wisconsin, USA

Everything about it is pretty unimpressive. The main thing I can say to its credit is that the honey aspect is nicely done. It’s not at all a cloying, sugary honey flavor. The beer is very light gold/yellow in appearance, without much head to speak of. It’s fairly smooth tasting, with grass being the prevalent flavor on my tongue. I always seem to get a headache after drinking one, but it’s probably a very good thirst-quencher on a hot summer afternoon. A good yard beer. twindadplus2 (417), Wisconsin, USA

Nose is malty and slight citrus. Body is on the low side of medium with active carbonation. The flavor is light malt and grain. Not much bitterness really, just a slight dry, crispness at the finish. Not bad at all, just nothing outstanding. Papsoe (15103), Frederiksberg, Denmark
