Strong crisp flavor, mostly on the sweet side, with prevalent honey notes. Smooth, slightly bitter finish. Pretty good for a macro lager. JCapriotti (1378), Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA
| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Jul 15, 2004 Small white frothy head. Clear amber/gold color. Aroma is sweet and what I consider to be bock-like... white wine or something. Taste is kind of blah, but it sure brings back college memories. Certainly nothing offensive in it though. A little bit of sweetness, a little bit of hops. antisnobJP (275), St. Michael, Minnesota, USA

Good malt flavors with a little sweetness and just enough hoppiness to balance it out. Not overly carbonated. Really easy drinker. This is my favorite Leinie. Probably the best cheap American lager I’ve drank. Quality use of domestic malt and hops. I hope Miller doesn’t fu@# it up. tomxcs (315), Golden, Colorado, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jul 5, 2004 This is a good macro. Some evidence of malt and hops in flavor. Little hop bitterness. Corny aroma. A slightly orange golden color with a small soapy head. Pretty fizzy. One of Leinie’s better offerings. Dansting (222), Overland Park, Kansas, USA

Leinie Northwoods is a beer I’ve wanted to sample for a very long time. Reminds me allot of the flavor of the original pre-Miller Leinenkugels I used to drink. Sweet, big flavor, good hops, smooth and definitely drinkable. Would cellar this one if Miller would sell it here in Missouri. Slikwily thank you for making this beer available to me.
