It is as a lager should be, but could have a little more malt for my taste. It has a nice golden color and has a smooth taste. Definetely quality for a macro. Jayson2425 (167), Box Elder, South Dakota, USA

| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Mar 24, 2004 Bright golden color with a sizable head. Aroma has a little malt to it. It does not have the 'piss-water' taste of most macro swill, but has a sizable malt and hop presence. Not bad, certainly not great. Good macro swill. kidwiththehair (45), Girdwood, Alaska, USA
| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 2/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Feb 10, 2004 This is a good lite beer with some detectable hops, and a bit of a malty flavour. Not the greatest, but is deffinately drinkable awaller05 (301), Sharon, Wisconsin, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 5/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Feb 8, 2004 It poured well into a lager glass with a decent head. Piss yellow with heavy carbonation. Decent smell and decent taste, probably a higher end macro swill at best. labattblueleaf (225), Grand Rapids, Michigan, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 11/20 | Feb 5, 2004 I really do like this beer. But I had to just murder it in the flavor department as it tastes totally watered down. Really it's a typical American lager (which I like) but it just has this very weak flavor to me. Cloudy golden color. Frankly, it gets major style points for the name..............Northwoods.............but the beer itself can't live up to the name. It's kind of like the name Chicago Blackhawks.....cool, but a shitty product. muzzlehatch (4427), Burlington, Vermont, USA
| 2.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 8/20 | Jan 1, 2004 Canned, on an innertube at the lake at my uncle's family reunion, July 83. Made the mistake of drinking this on its own, still quite sober, rather than with brats & burgers and drunk. Nonetheless this is a passable American lager with a hint of "darkness" (mostly in color) or "richness" (it's a bit more expensive than Lite) so you know it's a Leinies. Sellouts.
