Pours a medium orange. The thick creamy off-white head is mostly lasting with good lacing. The flavor is bland but balanced with a sweet start and an average bready finish. The medium creamy body is fizzy and finishes clean and smooth. I have to disagree with the Ratebeer on this one, this is not a representative of the American Standard style IMO. I would classify this as a pure lager. Frank (1067), Chicago, Illinois, USA

This is one of the best American-style lagers you can get. The color in the picture here is misleading. The actually beer is dark golden with a slighly reddish hue. The head is typical for a lager--initially foamy and white but fading soon after pouring. Leaves little peices of lace on the edge of the glass. This is a really flavorful lager with a slight bitterness from the hops and a citrusy nose. I like this a little bit warmer than I would most other American lagers but still cooler than I'd drink ales or darker lagers. Beerlover1982 (78), Lacrosse, Wisconsin, USA

| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Oct 23, 2002 nice omelette yellow; creamy though unmotivated head. light aroma, grassy, faint dried meadow flowers, and clean--a little too clean since i also picked up just a slight soapy note. good carbonation, lightly sweet, and medium bodied. flavor continues to swell with reasonable bitterness. it’s a tasty guzzler for the money; the hardest thing to swallow is the phillip morris factor, which does cause a momentary spasmodic reaction of revulsion, but if we can work through that, it’s a decent main-stream lager. kyzr (1123), Belgrade, Montana, USA

| 2.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 4/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 6/20 | Sep 30, 2002 Standard rubbery-hoppy lager aroma. Small, off-white head on golden-amber beer. Watery body with medium-high fizz. Bland taste - it was alright but just no oomph. A little bitter with some adjuncty off-flavors. Mild hops and little malt. Not horrible but I wouldn’t drink again. bbrock81 (221), Le Mars, Iowa, USA
