Pours a clear light amber with a thin white head. Aroma is terrible: there’s some light citrus, grain, corn, caramel, rotting vegetables, and maybe some weird chemical like pool acid. Taste is watery, cardboardy, very macro-ish with a bit of caramel richness. Meh. SpencerDB (12), Chapel Hill, North Carolina, USA Nov 6, 2009 I did not enjoy this beer. Aroma is malty and somewhat citrus with a hint of toilet bowl cleaner. Not surprisingly, the taste backed up the terrible smell. As if I was expecting anything different, the after taste takes away any good taste that the beer had going down. I will absolutely not buy this beer again jcr (1137), Jasper, Indiana, USA Nov 5, 2009 Bottle. Small, fizzy head, off-white, almost fully diminishing. Amber body. Weak aroma of caramel, grain with just a hint of flowers. Slightly sulphuric. The flavor is lightly to moderately sweet and lightly bitter. The finish is lightly sweet and lightly to moderately bitter. Medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation. Not much character, especially for an Oktoberfest. Grainy, unrefined malt profile. Not much going on here. tnkw01 (124), USA Nov 5, 2009 Bottle. I love Marzen style beers. Even though this one is made by a beast affiliate it still holds up well. It has a great color and it is not too sweet or sour. Good beer and would recommend at least once. madvike (301), Madison, Wisconsin, USA Nov 4, 2009 Bottle - Pours a nice deep copper with a white head that’s gone pretty quick. Smells sweet with some sour milky notes. Lots of grain. Taste is off-putting, with sour malt, syrupy sweetness, and stale hops. Not good. iggynelix (12), Pennsylvania, USA Nov 3, 2009 i’m a big fan of german brews with the munich malts. amber in colour, looks like a beauty. this is a hearty drinkable standard to settle into after sampling crazy seasonals TizzleJizzle (46), Garland, Texas, USA Oct 31, 2009 Poured an unappealing dehydrated piss yellow color with surprising lacing considering the aforementioned piss. Tasted average at best with notes of obvious malts and stale hops. Uninteresting palate. At the end of the day, this is average as can be for a beer and is a sorry excuse for celebrating the Oktoberfest holiday. Poobah (101), New Orleans, Louisiana, USA Oct 30, 2009 Nice head and amber color. Sweet malty aroma. Malty intro, medium-soft body and bitter finish with some dark chocolate notes. I noticed some citrus presence as well.
