| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Sep 19, 2008 Bottle pours a clear, dark amber color with a tan head and minimal lacing along the glass. Roasted malt and caramel aroma. Flavor is slightly sweet with a somewhat dry, lightly bitter aftertaste. Overall a decent beer, but not one of my favorite Oktoberfests. thornecb (1813), Marblehead, Massachusetts, USA
| 2.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 2/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 9/20 | Sep 19, 2008 Pours deep amber into a shaker. Sickly looking head quickly subsides. Sour, stale malt aromas. Bubbly with a nasty sour chalkiness from front to back. I hope there’s something wrong with this bottle. nearbeer (1880), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Sep 19, 2008 12 oz. Clear, shiny copper with a small lasting ring above. A sheet of lace is left behind. Spicy wood and sweet corn aromas. Flavors of honeyed nut, cereal grain, dried grass, light marshmallow and sourish-wooden apple all seem to have a harsh edge to them. Nearly medium body is sorta smooth and finishes just dry. jeremytoni (1123), Swedesboro, New Jersey, USA

| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Sep 17, 2008 Smells of roasted malts. Pours a dark gold with average head retention. Good lacing. Average taste for the style, not too intense. Finishes with malts. Could use more alcohol. Not great, but an average brew. jmw141 (134), Canton, Illinois, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Sep 17, 2008 12 oz bottle from six-pack. poured into dimpled mug. Traditional color from an Oktoberfest, average head that is a nice light brown color. Aroma of nutty malt. Plavor of nuts, malty sweetness. Very slight dryness in finish. I realled liked this one and it kicked off my Autumn Marzen-season! Swalden28 (1531), McKinney, Texas, USA

Aroma of light fruit and caramel malt. Flavor is pretty good, lightly sweet caramel with a little hop flavor kick and faint bitterness. Light body, high carbonation. Over, not bad. kosko20 (321), Bemidji, Minnesota, USA
| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Sep 16, 2008 Totally against the grain for this. When I think Oktoberfest, I think of pumpkins, sweet potatoes, and a brew that is a resemblance of that. This one does an awesome job of balancing pumpkins, sweet potatoes (tho might be brewed with them, the flavor of them is there), malts, caramel, and yeast. Pour is a deep orange with an off white head. Mouthfeel is medium, decent carb, and finishes semi-sweet. This impressed me big time.
